In seconds?
There will be 20 frames per second in the video adding up to 200 frames considering the
animation is 30 seconds long.
There are 60 seconds in a minute. How many frames (ie. Individual photos) will you
need to take?
If the production was a minute long that would mean the production would need 600 frames
because if there are 200 frames in 20 seconds times that by three since that adds up to a
minute which is 60 seconds. That is how I worked out it having 600 frames if the production
were to be a minute.
Lighting Design
There is natural daylight but there are curtains which block out all sources of sunlight.
It is crucial that there is no natural light in the room where the production is going to be shot
in and this because there are already spot lights on the set and having natural light in the
room of the set may tamper with the lighting on the set. But this is resolved by the curtains
which block all sources of light coming into the room.
There is two lamps facing this productions set and it brightens up the whole set making the
shot look a lot better than it would if there were to be only natural lighting on the set.
Where will you place your light source(s) to create interesting effects?
My light sources for this production are going to be positioned behind the camera so it is out
of the way but still gives the set good lighting. The lights sources are only lamps and they
are easily plugged.
Frame numbers
You will need to label your images as frames
0_1
1_1
1_2
1_3
Ensure your clips are labeled as such. Screen shot the folder your clips are in, and copy the
image underneath.
Dope sheets
A dope sheet is an animation tool which helps a animator organise the animation shot-by-
shot.
This gives the camera operator instructions on each shot type and how many frames this will
be used for.
For example;
Because you will be working with video, you will be using 30fps. You will need to complete a
dope sheet for EVERY SECOND of your animation.
i.e, if you make a 30 second animation, you will need to complete 30 dope sheets.
This will be a time-consuming task, but it will help you understand what will need to
happen in each of the shots you take. The higher marks will come from a detailed and
careful collection of dope sheets. For example, if your characters speaks, you will need to
show the mouth forming every shape in order to look effective.
