Stressor: Moving
Moving to a new place, whether it is a new house, new city, or new state, can
cause children a lot of stress. They worry about what they are going to do in the
new place, how they will make friends, etc. I found a few books that children can
read and listen to that will help ease their worries and get them prepared for
moving.

house and a new school. The boy is unsure and worried about making friends and
all the things he needs to do at his new school. The story ends with the boy
making friends with some children after going over to them and helping them solve
a problem. Moving to a new city can be very stressful for children. This book is a
good one to read to children who are going to move because the story line
contains a lot of common worries children have pertaining to moving. By reading
this book, children can see they are not alone in their worries and it gives them an
opening to talk to others about what they worry about.

who are going to move for the first time. They are trying to figure out how they
feel about the whole process and through this book, they will see how Brother Bear

Stressor: New Sibling

Getting a new sibling can be a stressful time for children. Some children have time
to prepare for the sibling if their mother is pregnant. Others dont have as long if
their parents go through adoption or are foster parents. The transition to having a
