Teachers and students. Salam Muafakat Johor.

By Gods grace, we have gathered here today to welcome the Principal of

Otsu Ryukoyu High School and the delegation from Japan. I am Abbimanyu A/L

Chidambaram, the student representative of SMK Taman Nusa Damai. I am standing

here today to warmly welcome our friends from the Land of the Rising Sun to our

school with a big round of applause.

For our friends from Japan, this might be your first visit to this country. So, it

might be a bit awkward to see Malaysians who are different in their appearances,

and communicate in different languages. Well, this is because our descendants are

different. Some of our ancestors originates from India, China, and even Borneo. For

me personally, I am of Indian descendent and my ancestors are from Tamil Nadu,

south of India. As you can see from the sea of faces here today, my friends are of

Malay, Indian, Chinese descendants, as well as ethnic groups from the island of

Borneo, a thousand mile away to our East Coasts. Despite our differences, one thing

is similar amongst us, which is unity. Our unity is the essence of this wonderful

country with an ample of different communities, and ethnics. Briefly speaking,

Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures, made up of people with a strong sense of

community that you will be able to see in action today.

All of us, are honoured to be part of your visit here and we look forward to

assist and be with you in all the activities prepared for you. We hope that this visit will

give you the chance to explore and indulge in our cultural offerings. There is a

selection of traditional games, food, and cultural performance ready to be enjoyed.

We have worked hard to the best of our abilities for all of you.

We have multitudes to offer and we hope you would savour the experience.

Dont miss the chance to don our traditional costumes and snap a photo or two with

it in our photo booth. Have a hands-on experience on the kaleidoscope of

performance and visual arts we have to offer today like kompang, traditional

dances and the Islamic calligraphy. As well, enjoy the numerous local cuisine weve

put together just for you.

Throughout the visit, I truly hope that our friendship with Mr.

___________________ and his school would be strongly built. I am positive that the

friendship were going to forge will withstand the test of time as this visit is a golden

opportunity for both sides to celebrate and experience first-hand, each others culture

and tradition. We will truly cherish all these amazing experiences that we are going

to gain throughout the day.

I am going to end my speech with my warmest thought and I hope that this life

changing experience is something that we will treasure together. Friends come and

go, but a longing heart will stay in touch. We hope that our friendship will go beyond

borders because we can always keep our friendship alive through social media as

long distance is just a click away.

Thank you & welcome
