Learning Experience: Literacy Identify the Alphabet
I am organizing a child-directed learning experiment in which children
will have the opportunity to explore the different letters of the
alphabet. This learning experience will take place in the preschool
classroom. It will be set up at one of the tables provided my
supervisor.
Objectives:
The children will further develop the skill of:
1. (3.10) identifying sounds in their environment such as animal
sounds, traffic noises, music, and human speech
2. (3.10) Identifying specific letter sounds and syllables
Materials:
Box of assorted letters
Paper with the letters to be identified
Implementation:
1. I will set up the letters and paper strips so that everyone can
have an opportunity to join in the learning experience.
2. I will invite children to explore the letters and paper to matched
with.
3. I will model the proper way that the letters are pronounced as
well as pronouncing the animals/objects correct names.
4. Throughout their exploration, I will support the children by
communicating the letters, and the sounds they make.
Teaching Strategies:
Invitation:
I will motivate children to explore the activity by saying, come and
see what I have here for you today. Although some children may not
will be fully understanding speech, I will also demonstrate welcoming
