Program Joseph Gouge is pursuing a B.M. in Performance (Voice) at the
University of Arizona. His performance experience includes the roles of
You that wont to my pipes sound...................................... Thomas Morley La Thire and Le Petit Vieillard in LEnfant et les sortilges (2016), Nanki-
Grace Kim, conductor Poo in The Mikado (2015), and Pinellino in Gianni Schicchi (2012); all roles
were performed with the UA Opera Theater. This past summer, Joseph
worked with Ash Lawn Opera as an Apprentice Artist in their production
The Hands That First Held Marys Child ........... Dan Forrest (ASCAP) of South Pacific . His awards and honors include: Medici Scholar (2016),
Remember from Two Rossetti Songs ............................ Stephen Chatman Opera Guild of Southern Arizona Grant (2016), UA John Bloom
Joseph Gouge, conductor Scholarship (2015 and 2016), OGSA Undergraduate Scholarship (2015),
Billy Stephenson, cello 3rd Place in the UA Larry Day Vocal Competition (2015 and 2016), and
Honorable Mention at the NATS Arizona Regionals Audition (2015).
~~~ Joseph currently works as the Music Director of Grace Notes Music
Ministry at Davis Monthan AFB Parish (2009-Present). After graduation,
Prelude in G-Sharp Minor, Op. 32, No. 12 .......... Sergei Rachmaninoff Joseph plans to pursue a M.M. in Voice Performance.
Daniel Karger-Penalosa, pianist
Daniel Karger-Penalosa is a piano performance major at the Fred Fox
~~~ School of Music at the University of Arizona under the direction of
Professor Tannis Gibson. He recently transferred from Pima Community

Sing Me to Winter ..................................................... Julie Gardner Bray Grace Kim is obtaining a B.M. in Choral Music Education at the
University of Arizona. Grace performed as a soloist in J.S. Bach's
Grace Kim, conductor Magnificat in D Major, BWV 243 with the University Community Chorus
Kat Choyguha, soloist (2015). Grace was a member of and soloist for Symphonic Choir at the
Western Divisional Conference of the American Choral Directors
~~~ Association in Santa Barbara, California (2014). Grace participated at the
UA Student Symposium ACDA Rehearsal Technique Master Class and
Prelude and Fugue in E Major, BWV 854 ........ Johann Sebastian Bach worked with Dr. Jonathan Talberg of the Bob Cole Conservatory at
Daniel Karger-Penalosa, pianist California State University, Long Beach (2015). Grace participated in
Audivi Vocem Conductors Choir, where she worked with guest clinicians
~~~ Dr. Arian Khaefi of Towson University, and Dr. Jaclyn Johnson of the
University of Tennessee (2015 & 2016). Upon graduation, she plans to
Ding Dong Merrily on High .......................................... Chester L. Alwes pursue a career as a choral director at the high school level and eventually
