Last week we finished the last three plagues, and we had an in-depth look at the
Feast of Passover and how this Feast represents the Covenant of Ownership.
This week we will look on how the story unfolds and how YHVH finally released
Israel from the power of Egypt. Thereafter Israel will face new enemies as they
travel through the Wilderness on their way to Mount Sinai. Every new milestone
along their journey has a significant meaning as well as a challenge to overcome
in order to reach the next level in their walk. In the same way, will we face
challenges prior to reaching the next level in our faith.

The Two Enemies Spiritual Warfare

Israel faced two enemies between Egypt and Sinai. The first enemy was part of
their past represented by Pharaoh, and the other enemy is part of their future,
namely Amalek, which they encountered as a new enemy as a result of their
choice to follow YHVH.
Personal Application: When you came to faith in Messiah and decided to
give your life to Him, you will be challenged by your past. This enemy will
come in the form of previous habits, old friends and acquaintances you dealt
with in your old life. This enemy wants you back in Egypt, back with the old
habits of sin and living a selfish life revolving only around yourself. This is
something you have to overcome, because it is so easy to fall back into your
old ways, especially under the bad influence of people you sinned with in the
past.

1
The External Enemy
Pharaoh hirp means great house and is first used in Scripture
in Gen 12:14 where the princes of Pharaoh commended Sarah,
Abrams wife to Pharaoh, and he took her as his wife. Pharaoh
represents Satan and Egypt is his kingdom or great house and he
wants us as his bride. This is what YHVH wants for us, He wants us
to be His Bride and become part of His Household. Satan is
copying YHVHs Plan and offer exactly the same to his followers.
The main difference between the house of Pharaoh and the House
of YHVH is what is accepted and promoted in that house. Pharaoh wants
us to have all the things that have to do with self-worship, to seek your own will
and to indulge in the things that come naturally to someone with a sinful nature.
Everything is allowed but comes at a price; you will be a slave to these
consequences, making you a slave in Egypt, that leads to death.
This is contrary to what is accepted and allowed in the House of YHVH. YHVH
wants us to follow things that are prescribed by Him, things that will result in
liberation and which consequences lead to life. YHVH loves us because He
created us and wants the best for us. Satan is jealous of us and is trying to
destroy us because he hates us.
Satan wants you to compromise to keep you close to Egypt so that you may
think you are free but actually still bound in sin. Its all about deception and lies
that bring a false sense of freedom that actually leads to bondage and
destruction. YHVH defeated Pharaoh and send a great plague upon him when he
took Sarah as bride. YHVH will not allow Satan to steal His bride and will send
plagues upon the house of Pharaoh, as revealed in the Books of Exodus and
Revelation.
Q How do we overcome Pharaoh or Satan in our lives?
We need to do the same as Isreal did, they turned their backs on Pharaoh and
obeyed YHVH, and followed Moses through the Red Sea to Mount Sinai.
Exo 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand firm, and
see the Salvation of YHVH, which He will show to you today: for the
Egyptians whom ye have seen today, you shall see them again no more
forever.
They will see the Salvation of YHVH revealed to them. The word used for
salvation here is Yeshua , that is the Name of our Messiah. This is the
heading of the book of Revelation, the revealing of Yshua that means YHVH is
my Salvation. The battle is already won, and Satan or Pharaoh is defeated. All
we have to do is stand firm against his accusations and tactics because they are
powerless against those who stand fast in faith and know that Yshua has
overcome the enemy and broken the yoke of slavery over us.
Q How has He broken Satans power over us?

Satan only has power over you is he can access your old man. When you are in
Messiah, you no longer live, but Messiah lives in you. (Gal 2:20)

2
Q - What does this mean in practical terms?
The battle is won the day you received your new man or new nature.
Q - How do I receive this new nature? Lets read the story and find out.

Exo 14:9 The Egyptiansall Pharaohs horses and chariots,

horsemen and troopspursued the Israelites and overtook them
as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal
Zephon.

Pi Hahiroth means place where sedge grows. Sedge is a

plant that has over 5,500 species, and sedges may be found growing
in almost all environments, many are associated with wetlands, or
with poor soils.
Spiritual Insight: From a spiritual point of view, this is not a
positive, it is a plant that can grow in a bad soil, and reading the parable of the
sower in Matt, we know that YHVHs seed needs good soil. This is another
trap set by Satan to try and get YHVHs people to grow roots in the poor
ground he is providing. This plant is not like the plants YHVH wants us to be,
that bears good edible fruit. These plants grow in a place between Egypt and
Mount Sinai and has over 5,500 species and represent the majority of
Denominations who reject the mountain (Commandments of YHVH), and
require poor soil, that is a watered down version of what following YHVH is all
about. This is the place where they camp that is still relatively close to Egypt
(sin and bondage).
There is a second meaning of this place that is more positive.
Pi Hahiroth comes from the root word chor that means hole
and is first found in Scripture in Isa 11:8 where it reveals the
peace that will come as a result of the Branch of Jesse, and
because of Messiah, a suckling child can play on the hole of
the adder (Serpent), and not be harmed. It starts off with the
revelation of Messiah and YHVHs Spirit that came upon Him:
Isa 11:1-2 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of
Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the
Spirit of YHVH shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and
of the fear of YHVH.
This Anointing that is upon Messiah is also promised to His followers. This
Anointing is what allows you to receive a new nature so that you can be in
contact with the things of Satan, but they will not affect you because your attitude
changed towards sin and you do not want to do those things anymore. The adder
or Serpent will not bite you, and you will be set free from its poisonous venom
which is his deception and lies.
Q When and how do I receive this Anointing or new nature? Lets read on.

Exo 14:21-28 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that
night YHVH drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into
dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea
on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

3
23 The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaohs horses and chariots and
horsemen followed them into the sea. 24 During the last watch of the night
YHVH looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army
and threw it into confusion. 25 He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that
they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, Lets get away from the
Israelites! YHVH is fighting for them against Egypt. 26 Then YHVH said to
Moses, Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back
over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen. 27 Moses stretched out
his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The
Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and YHVH swept them into the sea. 28 The
water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsementhe entire army
of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them
survived.
Pharaoh and his army went after Israel and cornered them against the shore of
the Red Sea. YHVH opened up the waters by the East Wind and separated the
waters to create a pathway in the midst of their dire situation. There are many
learnings we can take away from this historical event.
Personal Application: YHVH will make a
way when there seems to be no way.
Whenever you are in a desperate situation,
He will bring an outcome and blow with His
East Wind on to that situation and provide a
way for you to go through it unscathed.
East is the word qadim ,ydq that means
east or east wind. It comes from the root
word qadam that means, to meet, to receive
and to confront.
Wind is the word ruach xvr that means spirit as well, specifically referring
to the Ruach ha Kodesh or Holy Spirit of YHVH. This means that the Spirit of
YHVH confronted the challenge Israel had, which were the Egyptian army,
and defeated them on their behalf. It also, through one of the other
meanings, indicate that Israel might have received the Spirit of YHVH
(qadam Ruach) during this event. This gives us the insight that the spirit of
YHVH is received, that is the same Anointing that came upon the Branch
(Messiah) as revealed in Isa 1:2, at the place where the water separated and
the people went through.
Q What is this event symbolic of?
According to 1 Cor 10:2, Paul reveals to us that Israel was baptised in the
Red Sea, this teaches us that this event represents the Baptism or Mikvah
new converts must go through, as one of the steps to get to the Promised
Land. We will now look at the Mikvah or Baptism in a bit more detail.

4
Crossing the Red Sea Baptism
The Red Sea is the barrier between you
and Egypt that helps you not to return back
into bondage. We have looked at the 4
Compromises previously, that Pharaoh
suggested, keeping a handle on the children
of Israel. The Red Sea symbolises the line
you have to cross, or next step you have to
take to prevent Satan from pulling you back
into sin and bondage. This line is the place
or event where Pharaoh (Satan / the
Serpent) lost his grip on YHVHs people where he lost the final battle against
YHVH.
Prophetic Application: This final battle Satan lost against YHVH points
prophetically to the event in the future, where Messiah will symbolically be
destroyed by the water (words of accusation) so that His people can walk
through on dry ground.
Rom 6:1-4 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace
may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer
in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ
Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him
through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead
by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
This means that your baptism represents the death or drowning of your old
self, and the resurrection of the new man, through the power of YHVHs
Spirit. This new nature allows you to overcome the flesh and the tendency to
sin.
Water baptism (immersion) was not originally a Christian act. All through the
TaNaKH (Old Testament), the children of Israel, whenever they would have to
come before YHVH, would cleanse themselves. The priests had to cleanse
themselves, and what they went through was the mikvah, or a cleansing. A
woman went through a mikvah once a month. There are many reasons for a
mikveh in Scripture. It was not uncommon for the people of Israel to be immersed
in water.
The Mikvah of Repentance
Q- What was Yochanans immersion all about?
Yochanan the Immerser (John the Baptist), a prophet, one who came in the spirit
of Elijah, was immersing people in the river of Jordan. It was a Jewish community
that was coming out because only the Jewish community knew about a Messiah.
It was also the new converts or proselytes, who came to immerse themselves
into following the God of Israel. Not only that, they were down along the river of
Jordan because they knew the prophecies, saw the signs of the time and
recognised there was going to be a Messiah (and that he should come at that
time).

5
It was not just a mikveh for a woman at her season. It was not for a man with a
skin disease or a running sore. It was not for the high priest on Yom Kippur. In
fact, it was for something different and unique. It was for repentance! It was
fulfilling the words of the prophet Isaiah:
"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near. This is he who was spoken of
through the prophet Isaiah: A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare
the way for YHVH, make straight paths for him.'
This was a mikveh for repentance and show us one of the main reasons for
undergoing this step in your new walk with YHVH. Just like Israel left Egypt and
crossed the Red Sea, so must we confirm our commitment to following YHVH
with this step of repentance. To repent means to turn, to turn back to YHVH and
to turn away from sin as symbolised by Egypt.

The Mikvah - Spiritual Cleansing

The Mikvah represents spiritual cleansing or deliverance as well. YHVH gave
Israel victory over Pharaoh, and his army and YHVH will give you victory over
Satan and his demons if you undergo the step of obedience called Immersion or
Baptism. By taking this next step to obedience, you drown all the negative
spiritual forces that had a hold on you when you were still in sin and bondage.
This is a liberating experience of deliverance where even demons can leave a
believer. In Africa when they baptise converts, sometimes the demons manifest
and do not want the person to enter the water. An example of this is found in Matt
8:28-34 where Yshua commanded the demons to go into the pigs and then the
pigs, instinctively, ran over the cliff into the water. A second witness that confirms
this is found in Matt 12:43 reveals to us that when an unclean spirit leaves a man,
it goes to waterless places and do not find rest and may return with seven more
evil spirits if the house is not cleaned out.

The Mikvah of Messiah

Mar 1:10-11 And immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the
heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon Him. 11 And there
came a voice from Heaven, saying, You are My beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased.
Q - Why did Yshua undergo immersion?
The Immersion of Yshua had four functions; it sanctified Him as the Passover
Lamb as well as the two goat sacrifices for Yom Kippur (sin sacrifice and
scapegoat). His Mikvah ordained Him as High Priest as well as Teacher/Rabbi at
the age of 30, as per the custom.
We must understand that it is recorded in the days of Malachi that the High Priests
in the Temple had stopped the process of laying on of hands. To restore this
righteous process, the High Priest John (the Baptist) had to withdraw into the
desert to the Jordan River to sanctify himself from the general population and
properly serve as a High Priest. This was necessary to restore the role of the High
Priest by Torah Standards. Yshua could not go to the Temple for consecration or
preparation as the Passover Lamb because that system had been corrupted.
Yshua went to John who was ordained by YHVH to consecrate and prepare
Yshua as High Priest, Rabbi, Passover Lamb and sin Sacrifice and Scapegoat.

6
We see in The Jewish Encyclopaedia that an Aaronic High Priest was required to
lay hands on the "scapegoat" thereby transferring the sins of the people onto the
spotless lamb on Passover and the goat on the Day of Atonement. No wonder
Yshua "ran off into the desert" just like the scapegoats did! What would you do if
the sins of the entire world were just placed on YOUR shoulders and you were
made the scapegoat/sin offering for the entire human race? He received the sin
of the world as the sin offering and scapegoat sacrifices at Yom Kippur.

The Mikvah and Receiving His Spirit

The custom was that if you became a disciple of a
Teacher/Rabbi, you are mikvahd (immersed) in the name of your
Teacher to show that you follow his teachings. We are baptised
in the Name of Yshua to demonstrate that we are following Him
as our Teacher and Rabbi.
When Yshua came out of the water, the Spirit of YHVH
descended upon Him, and this shows us the timing of receiving
His Holy Spirit. After a person is baptised, the facilitator should
lay hands on the one being baptised and ask YHVH to fill (baptise) them with His
Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh).
Baptism is the event where hands are laid upon the new convert, and he/she will
then receive the Holy Spirit or qadam Ruach ha Kodesh.
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new
creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things
have come.
When you are baptised, you are baptised in the Name of
Yshua the Messiah and are now in Messiah. When you
are in Him, then you have received His Anointing through
His Spirit, and you have become a new creature or new
creation.
Earlier in this Torah Portion, you will read about a pillar of cloud and the pillar of
fire that led the people of Israel. What do these pillars represent? These pillars
represent the Spirit of YHVH that led His people through the Wilderness up to Mt
Sinai. The function of His Spirit is in the names given to the Spirit namely; Holy
Spirit and the Spirit of Truth. First of all, YHVH Spirit will help you to be become
Holy, walking in His Truth or Word. His Spirit is also known as the Spirit of Truth
you will receive the revelation of His Word through YHVHs Spirit where He will
write His Commandments on your heart. The act of Baptism is prophetically
linked to Mt Sinai where they received the Ten Commandments, and later in Acts
2, they received the Holy Spirit when they celebrated the Feast of Shavuot.

What does it mean to be Baptised in the Name of Yshua?

Mat 28:19 Therefore go and teach all nations, baptising them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to
observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you
all the days until the end of the world. Amen.

7
Should we baptise in the Name of the Father, Son and
Holy Spirit [Mat 28:19], or should we baptise in the
name of Yshua HaMasiach, [ Act 2:38, Acts 10:48,
Acts 19:5, Rom 6:3]? The truth is established by two
witnesses, and the two passages in Acts confirms that
we should baptise people in the Name of Yshua the
Messiah, but this contradicts Mat 28:19. Why is this?
Mat 28 uses titles and not names; Father, Son and Holy
Spirit are titles, YHVH and Yshua are Names. The
Catholic Church baptise in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Is there
something we do not know? Here are statements and quotes from different
sources that confirms that Mat 28:19 had been altered to fit the doctrines of the
Catholic Church:
The Jerusalem Bible, a scholarly Catholic work, states :
"It may be that this formula, (Triune Matthew 28:19) so far as the fullness
of its expression is concerned, is a reflection of the (Man- made) liturgical
usage established later in the primitive (Catholic) community. It will be
remembered that Acts speaks of baptising "in the name of Jesus,"..."
The Bible Commentary 1919 page 723 :
Dr. Peake makes it clear that: "The command to baptise into the threefold
name is a late doctrinal expansion. Instead of the words baptising them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost we should
probably read simply-"into My Name."
Catholic Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger:
He makes this confession as to the origin of the chief Trinity text of Matthew 28:19.
"The basic form of our (Matthew 28:19 Trinitarian) profession of faith took shape
during the course of the second and third centuries in connection with the
ceremony of baptism. So far as its place of origin is concerned, the text (Matthew
28:19) came from the city of Rome." The Trinity baptism and text of Matthew
28:19, therefore, did not originate from the original Church that started in
Jerusalem around AD 33. It was rather as the evidence proves a later invention of
Roman Catholicism completely fabricated. Very few know about these historical
facts.
Matthew's Hebrew Manuscript 50 C.E.-Historian Eusebius (H.E. 3.5.2) According to
this manuscript, the passage reads as follows:
Matt 28:19-20 Go and make disciples, of all the nations, to believe in
My Name 20 and teach them to observe all the words which I have
commanded you, forever
Early Christians were told to be baptised in the name of Yshua the Messiah.
Readers must search the entire context of the Holy Scriptures to see the
irrefutable proof that Believers should be baptised in the name of Yshua the
Messiah, instead of being baptised in titles that are open ended.

8
The Enemy Within
After leaving Egypt and crossing the Red
Sea, a new enemy emerged between the
Red Sea and Mount Sinai, who wants to stop
people from receiving YHVHs
Commandments. This enemy is known as
Amalek. This is the enemy that Israel
encountered as a future enemy as soon as
they left Egypt.
Q - Who were the Amalekites?

Amalek klmi consists of two parts; am ,i that means people, and lek kl
that mean, licking up, like a dog licking up its own vomit, described in Prov
26:11 as a fool who goes back to his folly. The Amalekites came from Esaus
bloodline. Amalek was the offspring of Eliphaz, his father and Timnah, his
mother.
Eliphaz zpyla means; god of gold. Timna inmt means; restraint or
holding back of the will.
Spiritual Insight: Combining these meanings of these names gives us
insight into the origins of Amalek that is; the god of gold, who is the father,
and lover of material things, and restraining of the will, representing the
mother.
Amalek is the enemy that is born from these two and is associated with the
love of money and material things that bind or restricts your ability to make
your own decisions, keeping you in bondage. It is similar to what Pharaoh
did, making them slaves, but this enemy is on the other side of the Red Sea,
who wants to stop them from going to the Mountain. Amalek represents the
flesh that constantly pulls you back so that you can do foolish things
repeatedly. This makes the flesh a very determined enemy that is in
constant battle with your soul.
Examples: We see an example of this enemy in the Book of Ester with the
character Haman, a descendant of Amalek, who wanted to destroy Israel
(righteous people of Elohim). Another example we looked at in previous
Torah Portion was Agag, the king of the Amalekites. He represents the self
who is king of your life flesh that loves fat bread or the teachings that
promote freshness that turn YHVHs people into fat immature babies.
The war against Amalek only started once Israel left Egypt. After you
decide to follow Yshua, you will encounter the next enemy that is on
the inside; the yetser harah (evil inclination) that is the flesh. The
intent of this enemy is the same as the former enemy, and that is to
keep you in bondage through sin, warring against your newly
converted soul. The battle against Egypt was fought by YHVH on
behalf of the people who gave the ownership of their lives over to Him through
the Passover Covenant. The battle against Egypt was won and they never
encountered Egypt as an enemy again. Amalek on the other hand, was never
destroyed but only weakened, and was an enemy they had to battle till they
entered the Promised Land.

9
Practical Implication: YHVH, through Yshua, won the battle against Satan
for the sake of our souls, He does not need to fight Satan again, and you do
not need to battle against Satan anymore. The only thing you have to do
when you encounter him is to remind him that he is defeated and if
necessary, bind him and his demonic forces.
The only way Satan can get to you now is by using your own flesh against
you, through the new enemy called Amalek. Through submitting to Amalek or
the flesh, you become your own worst enemy, and you will be in constant
battle against this enemy until the day you die.

Faith The Battle Against the Flesh

Have you ever wondered why there need
to be something called faith? According to
Hebrews 11:1 is faith the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen. All good, but what does it mean
in a practical sense? We will now look at
what faith means and where it is applied
the first time to get the essence of what
faith is and how to use it in our lives.

Exo 17:8-11 Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim. 9 And
Moses said to Joshua, Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek.
Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my
hand. 10 So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And
Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 And so it was, when
Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his
hand, Amalek prevailed.
The definition of faith is found in context of the battle between Israel and Amalek.
This battle took place at Rephidim that means place of rest. The
first two letters of this word make up the word, Repha
that means to relax or to let go or to make slack. Hebrew Study Tip

control.

10
Faith is the weapon YHVH gave us to overcome the flesh. We all agree that
faith is required to become a follower of Messiah and become converted. We
learned last week that your conversion is in relation with the Passover, and
applying of the blood of the lamb is a sign that you hand over the ownership of
your life to Messiah. You dethrone king Amalek and crown King Yshua to rule
your life. So, overcoming the flesh is a critical step in maintaining this decision
so that Yshua can stay seated on the throne of your life. This goes hand in
hand with applying faith to keep this old king at bay. In other words, faith
maintains the Kingship of Messiah Yshua in your life, as well as keep the old
king off the throne. The moment you slack and let go, king Agag will rise to
power you will serve the flesh, and no longer King Yshua. Remember, the one
you obey is the one you worship. If this persists in your life, then you can
undo the conversion work in your life and lose your salvation. Faith is the
only way you can protect your conversion allowing the new man to manifest
in your life. Faith has to do with being faithful in the truth, and this truth
opposes sin and fleshiness.
Moses name backwards reads hey-shin-mem ,sh.Hey h means light or
shining and shin-mem ,s spells Shem that means Name. Reading Moses
name backwards can be interpreted as; shining the Name.
Aaron means, light bearer and Hur means, white cloth, and white is the only
colour that reflects all light. Hur rvx when you read it from left to right, makes
the word Ruach xvr that means breath that represents the Spirit of YHVH.
Personal Application 1: The physical battle took
place in the valley while the spiritual battle took place
on the mountain. This is a picture of standing in the
gap for someone that goes through a tough time with
others interceding. The spiritual battle is fought in the
power of the Spirit (Ruach meaning of Hur
backwards), by people that live holy lives (white
clothes meaning of Hur), shining His light by
declaring YHVHs Word (Light meaning of Aaron) over the situation in the
Name of Yshua (shining the Name meaning of Moses).
We read in Exo 17:13 that Amalek was weakened with the edge of the sword.
The standard translation usually says, edge of the sword, but here it uses
mouth of the sword. This gives us insight that the spiritual battle or
intercessory prayers should be fought out loud, speaking and declaring
YHVHs Word and Name over every situation. This picture gives us a very
good idea of how intercessory prayer or spiritual warfare works.
Personal Application 2: The battle between Israel and
Amalek is also a good example of how we can
overcome the fight against the internal enemy, namely
the flesh. To overcome the flesh, you have to live a life
of holiness, bearing His light and His Name upon your
life, with the strength and help of His Spirit. You should
always uplift and uphold YHVHs Truth (standards), by
being faithful in the truth you received.
Then your clothes will be white without spot or wrinkle, ready and prepared as
the Bride of Messiah.

Israels Journey Overview of Salvation
After Israel had left Egypt, they travelled through the wilderness, crossed the Red
Sea and travelled to Mount Sinai where they received the Ten Commandments
directly from YHVH. Then their journey began through the wilderness (40 years)
and eventually ended up in the Land of Promise, the Land of milk and honey.

Leaving Red Sea Mount Promised

Wilderness
Egypt Crossing Sinai Land

This is the same pattern or steps we as believers will follow when we accept
Yshua as our Master and Saviour.
The First Step is to partake in the Passover Covenant; you apply the blood and
eat the lamb. This happens in Egypt, which is prophetic of us accepting Yshua
as our Saviour while we were still sinners in this World. Part of this initial step, is
to embrace the Word (eat the lamb), so that you can have the strength to leave
our old life and start your new walk with Him heading towards the Promised
Land.
The Second Step has to do with crossing the Red Sea. This represents the act
of being immersed or baptised. Abraham crossed over and that identified him
as the first Hebrew and being immersed, symbolises this crossing over
experience that identifies you with your new culture (YHVHs culture). To cross
over is the word ibree that is the base word for Hebrew. As we have learned
previously, the Mikvah is a multi-faceted experience that show that you repent,
and the death of the old self. It separates you from the enemy and the hold he
had on you. It is a cleansing process that is associated with the immersion in
His Word and it is the event where you can receive the Spirit of YHVH,
converting you into a new creation so that you can walk in the newness of life.
Now we saw that it has to do with your new identity where you became part of
YHVHs Hebrew culture.
The Third Step is to face the Mountain, accepting and receiving the
Commandments of YHVH directly from Him. Jer 31:33 and Heb 10:16 reveals
this process where YHVH writes His Commandments on our hearts through
receiving His Spirit. This links the Word and the Spirit and makes them
inseparable.
The Fourth and Final Step is to enter the Promised Land, but before you can
enter, you have to go through the Wilderness. This is where you will face the
fallen world, with all its challenges, but you are now equipped with the Spirit and
the Word (Commandments) so that you will be able to endure and make it to the
Promised Land, which is our final destination called Salvation.

Bondage

The Wilderness is the battlefield where you will face new enemies that will try to
stop you from entering the Promised Land. Remember that your salvation is
based on these 4 steps and people can get lost along the way. You can lose
your salvation by staying in Egypt, even if you applied the Blood of the Lamb.

12
You can lose your salvation if you do not cross the Red Sea, exposed to
Pharaoh (Satan), causing you to backslide and return to Egypt (sin and
bondage). You can lose your salvation if you do not face the Mountain where
the temptation of Golden Calf worship (mixing and confusion Babylon), that
awaits those who rejects YHVHs Commandments, eating fat bread with king
Agag.
You can lose your salvation through murmuring, wandering through the
Wilderness for 40 years and die there because you refused to trust YHVH and
apply what you have learned from His Word, overcome by Amalek, that is
fleshiness.
We have to follow Him from Egypt, embrace and accept
everything He is giving us, so that we can be equipped to travel
through the Wilderness (Life), till we reach the end of our
journey. Paul compares this to running a race until you get to the
finishing line. Then and only then will you enter the Promised
Land or New Jerusalem. It is not a question of running against
someone else, you are running the race against yourself, and
the goal is to finish the race and not to give up or let go.
