PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Installed Solaris (8,9,10) on Sparc Machines, performed Interactive and jumpstart

installations
Performed User Administration

Attached new IDE Disks, Tapes, CD-ROMs using both online and offline.

Partitioned the disks, created new file systems, mounted them and changed the
/etc/vfstab entries.

Checking and Repairing File systems and Monitoring File system Usage

Installed Packages to the system

Prepared Backup Schedule for Incremental and Cumulative Backups. Used tar, cpio,
ufsdump and ufsrestore for backing up and restoring files. Taken backups on tape
drives and disks. Taken backup using Autoloader also.

Setup NFS Servers, Auto clients and automounted the file systems using direct and
indirect maps. Also setup entries in /etc/dfs/dfstab and mounted the disks onto the
client systems

Configured NIS Master Server and Slave Servers and setup NIS clients in a
heterogeneous environment comprising of SUN machines.

Controlled System login activity by editing /etc/syslog.conf

Created System Administrator role-based Access permissions

Configured Network interfaces using ifconfig utility and added virtual interfaces to
the system.

Performed Jumpstart Installation over network and maintained install server, boot
server, and Configured server. Wrote various post installation scripts.

Monitored the performance of the system using ps, vmstat, netstat, rpcinfo and
iostat to check CPU Utilization, memory usage and network traffic.
