TRUE SACRIFICES

(Sacrifices That Pleases the Lord)

Romans 12:1
INTRO:

A. I have chosen this topic because...

1. The very nature of God is that of sacrifice.
2. He is a Great giver. (Jn 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave His
only begotten Son.
3. God gave us His best, thats why He expects us also to give Him the
same.
4. King David was a man who understood sacrifice. He said, I will not
offer sacrifices to the Lord my God w/c cost me nothing.- (2Sam 24:24)
5. David was a man after Gods own heart who was determined to accomplish all
of Gods will. (Acts 13:22)
6. THIS IS WHAT GOD IS LOOKING FOR TODAY.MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE WILLING TO BE
A LIVING SACRIFICE. (Rom 12:1)

B. LET US STUDY TRUE SACRIFICE, SACRIFICES THAT PLEASES GOD.

READ: (Romans 12:1)

A. Before we go any further, we need to understand that God does not accept every
sacrifice.

1. God does not want our sacrifices if our heart is not right with Him.

NOTE: Sauls sacrifice was rejected because it was a substitute for

doing Gods will. 2. We
must be in the will of God or else He will not receive our sacrifice
>We must be doing things His way, not our own way.
Examples:
a. God does not want our sacrifices if we have not tried to be
reconciled to a brother. (Matt.5:23-24)
b. Ananias and Sapphiras offering was also rejected because it was
done deceitfully. (Acts 5:1-10)
c. The Lord ignores the sacrifices of those who treat their marriage
partners wrongly. (Mal 2:13-16)
d. Sacrifice is not also a substitute panakip o kapalit for something
else that God is requiring of us. (1Sam 15:1-3, 8-9, 22)
5. Sauls sacrifice was rejected because it was a substitute for doing
Gods will.

B. SO WHAT ARE THE SACRIFICES THAT PLEASE GOD THAT WILL LEAD US TO JOY, ETERNAL
REWARD AND VICTORY OVER SATAN?

I. THE SACRIFICES OF OBEDIENCE: Jer 7:22-23

A.GOD IS MORE INTERESTED IN OUR OBEDIENCE THAN IN OUR OFFERINGS.

1. God made it clear when He brought the Israelites out of the land of
Egypt that His hearts was not concerned with the offerings and
sacrifices of animals.
>He was interested in another kind of sacrifice= OBEDIENCE.
>Obey My voice. He wanted a people who listened to His voice and
obey Him out of an attitude of love.
2. This is true sacrifice. (Exo 19-5)
3. King David also understood this truth. (Ps 40:6-8)
Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, my ears you have opened. I
desire to do your will o my God , Your law is within my heart.
4. David knew the heart of God. He realized that God had no pleasure in
the ritual animal sacrifices BUT IN MEN WITH LISTENING EARS AND
RESPONDING HEARTS.
5. King Saul never learned this. He was in the habit of partially obeying God
then offering sacrifices to compensate for his incomplete obedience

B. THE SACRIFICE OF OBEDIENCE IS THE KEY TO CHRISTIAN GROWTH.

1. When God puts His finger on an area of life to correct it, HE EXPECTS A
RESPONSE.
2. As we response, we are changed. However, if we evade or reject His
correction, our problems REMAIN UNFIXED and CEASED TO GROW. Infact, we go backwards.
3. Sacrifices can never take the place of OBEDIENCE.
> Hindi mo pwedeng sabihin sa Kanya, Panginoon sa akin ang buhay na
ito, hindi mo pwedeng angkinin o pakialaman ang bahaging ito ng aking
buhay.
> Hindi natin pwedeng gawin ito. Kung hindi? hindi tayo lalago sa ating
cristianong pamumuhay.
4. We cannot bargain with God. He will not accept a substitute for
something that He is requiring of us.

II. THE SACRIFICE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

A. In (Ps 4:5) we are exhorted, Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your
trust in the Lord.

1. Ano ba ang ibig sabihin nito?

2. The sacrifice of righteousness means we do what is right regardless of the
consequences.
3. Making a stand for right is a sacrifice because it is often not popular and
we may be criticized.
4. Sometimes doing what is right make us lose financial support, esp. when we
are in the ministry.
5. However in the end, God vindicates those who offer the sacrifice of
righteousness and put their trust in Him not man.
6. For God Himself is righteous and He delights in the righteous.
No good things does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless
or righteous
matuwid at marangal.)
7. David says.. Blessed is the man who trusts in You, oh Lord Almighty.

III. THE SACRIFICE OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING

A. (Ps 116:17) I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving and I will
call on the Lord.

1. Mayroon pong nakapagsabi, The praise and thanksgiving that God

appreciates most is not what He receives from those who live in the
glory of heaven , BUT FROM THOSE ON EARTH WHO ARE UNDER TERRIBLE PRESSURE.
3. Ito ang labis niyang hinahangaan at tinatanggap.

NOTE: It is easy to give thanks when we are prospering on every side.

Ikaw ay malusog, maraming pera ,maraming kaibigan at walang problema.

kanilang paghihirap at matinding problema.

1. (Job 1:20-22) When Job was reduced to ashes, he fell down in worship
saying, The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away.
> Dios ang nagbigay, Dios din ang nag-alis.
2. (Habakkuk 3:17-18):
Though the fig tree does not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines,
Though the olive crop fails, and the fields produce no food,
Though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
YET I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD, I WILL BE JOYFUL IN GOD MY SAVIOR!
3. This is the most expensive worship of all.
> To thank, trust, and praise God regardless of what is our situations
in life.
4. God respects and honors our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving
> It moves His mighty hand of deliverance.
> It also keeps our hearts free.
> Not only that, Depression and Discouragement can be resisted by the
sacrifice of joy and thanksgiving.
5. Rather than allowing ourselves to be overwhelmed by a dark cloud as we
walk in our circumstances, we can turn our affection to our Savior and begin to offer
the sacrifice of joy, praise, and thanksgiving.
6. This response brings faith and deliverance. It gives victory over Satan

IV. FINALLY, THE SACRIFICE OF OUR ISAAC.

A. Ano ba ito? ISAAC REPRESENTS THE THING THAT IS DEAREST TO OUR HEARTS.
1. It may be a person, a call, a job, ministry or riches.
2. In Gen 22:2, God tested Abraham to see if he cherished Isaac more than
Himself.
5. Abrahams willingness to offer Isaac was a blow suntok/sampal to
Satan.
6. When Abraham gave up Isaac. He won a great victory over Satan.
C. DITO DIN TAYO SUSUBUKAN MINSAN NG DIOS
1. Sometimes following God requires sacrifices with our HOME, LIVING
CONDITION, MONEY, SECURITY, CHOICE OF MATE, LIFESTYLE, and other experiences.
2. It is a priviledge to make these sacrifices to the Lord for they are
like a sweet smell to Him, even as Christs whole life was a fragrant
sacrifice to the Father.
3. If we do this, joy is the end result of all sacrifices made to God out of
a pure and willing heart.
CONCLUSION:
1. Rom 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brother, in view of Gods mercy, to
offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.
2. This is your spiritual act of worship. Ito ang karapat-dapat ninyong
pagsamba sa Panginoon.
3. Kamusta na po ba ang ating paghahandog? Mayroon po ba itong halong
sakripisyo o wala?
4. Ikaw lang ang nakakaalam.
6. Meron Siyang nais ituwid sa ating buhay.
NOTE: Tandaan natin, IT TAKES A WILLING SACRIFICE ON OUR PART TO BE
PLEASING TO GOD.
