STUDY GUIDE
I am aProf. Myra Almodiel and I will be your guide for this course. Together, we will explore different
technologies that are used to create, store, exchange and use information.
At the end of the course, you should be able to gain knowledge on the hardware and software component of
the computer system, understand the Internet and technologies developed, and appreciate IT-related laws in
the Philippines.
As a distance learner, you are expected to have a high level of independence and self-directed learning skills.
A good organizational and time management skill can also help you as you go through the course and
complete all the requirements by yourself or through collaboration with your fellow-learners in this course.
Since this is a very large class, learners will be divided into two sections for quality discussions and sharing of
ideas. Section A will use the MyPortal for the discussions and all submissions of all requirements. Section B,
on the other hand will be required to join the MMS 101 FB Group for the discussions, FMAs and Projects.
Requirements such as QUIZZES, PROJECTS and FINAL EXAM will be submitted via MyPortal.
By default, you will be assigned to a section. But you still have an option to transfer to the other section if you
wish to. (Please see the Class Sections for the house rules on changing sections.) Your participation in
discussions forums and collaboration with other learners to share your own thoughts and experiences is
highly encouraged and will be graded. However, before you post or share something, make sure that you are
familiar with the rules of netiquette and copyright.
Remember to regularly check our MyPortal site and/or FB Group for announcements and updates. The
Course Guide is provided for your reference on the grading system and house rules for this course. You may
also refer to the Study Schedule below for the class sections, topics, activities and deadlines of the
requirements for this course.
Looking forward for a fun and fruitful learning experience with you!
