2. REVITALISATION OF UKKADAM BUS STAND - COIMBATORE

AIM
To organize the area within the bus stand efficiently for the inflow and outflow of buses and
to provide the possible facilities for travelers within the existing site area.

The boundaries of the bus stand are encroached by small scale commercial buildings, street
hawkers and auto rickshaws, totally making the bus stand invisible from outside. The aim is
also to enhance the legibility of the bus stand.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

Ukkadam bus stand being one of the three major bus transit hubs in Coimbatore, the other
two being the Gandhipuram bus stand and the Singanallur bus stand, is poorly organized of
its space and is not prominent.

As it acts as an identity of the area when a traveler reaches the city, it should be aptly

design could be of importance.
