Human Resources Department

Hiring manager,

I am writing to recommend Mr. Sean Tate as a candidate for the teaching position in your school district. Mr. Tate is an
undergraduate of Brigham University and a Masters degree recipient from Southeastern Louisiana University. I have known Mr.
Tate for the 8 years in the capacity as his supervising Principal at Woodlawn High School where Mr. Tate has served as a social
studies teacher, coach, freshman academy director, and where ever I have needed his assistance. I have continued to follow his
career in education even after he moved to Virginia.

Sean Tate possesses many qualities that I feel are critical to any position in education. The first of these is that Mr. Tate
is a team player in that he goes over and above what has been asked of him to ensure that the task at hand is completed.
Secondly he has always been willing to take on task that have been assigned to him such as the following; teacher walkthroughs
observations, Parental Involvement Coordinator, data management as relates to tardy to class and/or school, Time Out Room
assignments, and In School Suspensions, and after school tutoring. He served as the coordinator of the tutoring program at our
school. Mr. Tate has a long established dedication to education and serving students in preparation for life. He also has a varied
background of educational experiences and settings that will make his contributions to his courses and the research for each an
enlightened experience for all.

Mr. Tate has the initiative to get things done and often sees a problem and works toward a solution within the realm of
authority that has been given to him. He was one of the most responsible and dedicated teachers at our school. When he is
given an assignment, I do not have to worry about it being completed satisfactorily and in a timely fashion.

Mr. Tate has developed an excellent rapport with his students as well as other members of the student body. He is so
well prepared that he rarely has any classroom incidents as it relates to classroom management. In the even that there may be
an issue, he as the expertise to handle such issues within the context of his classroom.

Mr. Tate has also served our school by serving as the head Wrestling Coach and as an assistant coach for football and
baseball as well as working with the social studies department coordinating appropriate field trips for the department.

I highly recommend him as an applicant to be hired as a teacher in your district. He will make the program an excellent
participant. Should you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Jimmy Newman
