Jonathon Neumann

Personal Manifesto Outline

As I, Jonathon Neumann have started my studies at Wheaton College I see it fit to

reflect on how I may become a more whole and effective disciple of Christ in my time of

preparation to serve Christ and His kingdom in the world.

I. Academically
A. Possible Majors or Minors
1. Bible and Theology
a. Deeper understanding of who God is never ending exploration.
b. Defense of the faith.
c. Passion for Bible and theology.
d. Learn about Jesus to grow as a person.
2. Christian Education and Ministry
a. Through this, I will also develop a deeper understanding of God.
b. Learn about communicating the Gospel to the world and the Church.
Prepares me to help build the church and serve and improve society
worldwide.
c. Guidance on encouraging, instructing, and setting an example for those
interested in the faith or growing in the faith.
3. Communications
a. Very interesting subject to me. Jesus was incarnate man how did He
interact?
b. See that I have my stereotypes of other races and cultures.
c. Theater. Praising God through the creative mind. Fun.
d. Public speaking.
B. Liberal Arts
1. Interests
a. History is very interesting subject that I am excited to learn about.
Through it I will understand people better. History is His story.
b. Philosophy. Philosophy may challenge my faith and make it stronger.
2. Disinterests.
a. Math is interesting but oftentimes seems pointless to me. I hope to test
out of it, but I may decide, if I get the chance, to take an accounting class.
Math does put one in awe of Gods complex world.
b. Science in high school was my least favorite class. Biology praises God
in the fact of life itself. Chemistry made no sense to me maybe here it
will. Physics is a fascinating subject. One equipped with the ability to
understand physics can do extraordinary things.
c. Other general education requirements that I do not find interest in.
II. Socially
A. Friends
1. Community
a. How can I develop better relationships?
b. I want to know people who are different. It is one thing to read about
other cultures it is another to interact with different cultures.
c. How can I build my brothers and sisters up?
d. Praying for one another.
B. Myself
1. At passage, Dr. A.J. asked me who I was, and, truly, I have no idea. However,
he said that this is a place to search for who I am and what I am good at.
2. Look at journals what questions do I ask about myself?
3. Learn to be real I already am. I felt as though I needed to put a fake righteous
face on. Healing (use Embracing the Love of God)

III. Spiritually
A. Relationship with God.
1. Importance.
a. Without God I can do nothing (John 15:5 illustration).
b. It is the reason Jesus came to redeem us so we can eternally enjoy
relationship with God.
c. Knowing that God is here makes me feel cared for.
B. My calling
1. As a pastor, my relationship with God will be very important.
