Chicago Tribune Ashley Brown originated the title role in Mary Poppins on
Broadway, for which she received Outer Critics, Drama League
HECTOR GUZMAN and Drama Desk nominations for Best Actress. She also starred
CONDUCTOR as Mary Poppins in the national tour, where she garnered a
Garland award for Best Performance in a Musical. Recently,
ASHLEY BROWN Ashley was in the acclaimed national touring production of
VOCALS The Sound of Music. She has also been Belle in Beauty and
the Beast on Broadway and recently returned to the Lyric
Opera of Chicago where she received critical acclaim for her
role as Laurey in Oklahoma. She also starred in Hello Dolly at
the Goodspeed Opera House, Sound of Music at the St. Louis
MUNY, which garnered her a Kevin Kline award, Limelight at the
La Jolla Playhouse, and NBCs televised Sound of Music.

Ashley was featured in an ABC special: Ashley Brown - ABC's


Disney on Broadway. She has her own PBS special called Ashley
Brown: Call Me Irresponsible, which received a PBS Telly Award.
