Describe the configuration of each facies and any lateral facies changes
across the field.

Figure 2. Net Sand Map of Interval 1

Upon examination of the isopach map of the data from figure 2, it was
observed that facies A flanked on the northeast and south west. Facies B
and C appear on either side of facies D in a northeasterly and southwesterly
direction. Facies E is flanked by facies D to the southwest and to lesser
degree facies A and B to the northwest and south east.

Figure 3. Net Sand Map of Interval 2

Facies A flanks facies C from the North and South, facies D appears to be
encased with facies A and C in the southern direction of the map. A greater
amount of facies D appears in a more northeasterly direction which bounds
facies E to the north and south along with minute amounts of facies A and B
to the northwest and south east.

Figure 4. Net Sand map of interval 3

Facies A is located to he south of the map with facies B and C flanking facies
D and E to the north and south.

What depositional elements might be represented by the facies identified?

Facies Depositional elements

A Fine turbidities of the distal lobe, fluvial flood plain, store-dominated
and distal deep-marine slope
B Crevasse splay, river mouth bar, delta front, shoreface, submarine fan
lobe, change from clastic to carbonate, Heterolithic turbidites of the
middle lobe
C Reworked offshore bar, regressive to transgressive shore face delta,
course turbidities of channel/lobe transition
D Eolian braided funnal, distrbutary channel-fill, submarine cayon-fill,
carbonate shelf-margin, evaporate fill of basin, amalgamated coarse-
turbidite and sandy debris flow of depositional channel fill
E River mouth bar, delta front, shoreface, submarine fan lobe, muddy
intrachannel mud flow, fine frained turbidite and hemipelagic deposits
with random overbank sandy tubidite beds.

What is the general direction of sediment flow?

The trend observed from the three maps is that the sediment tends to flow in
a northeast to southwest direction. This is due to the decreased occurrence of
the facies in the south west region of each sand map.

Where would you drill the next 2 development wells? Why?

The most ideal location for the next two wells to be drilled would be in the
depositional region of the greatest sand thickness granted that there will be a
sufficient degree of communication can be achieved amongst the sand
packages. Upon reviewing the well location map, wells 24 and 25 would be
the most promising options for location of development wells. This is based
on the sand maps provided and the results obtained from the examination of
them.
