Softball Season Wrap Up

The Lady Pride have posted an above .500 winning percentage with a 20-19
record. The Lady Pride posted a 12-10 record within conference and 4-6 on the road
but, within a neutral environment they posted a 5-1 record which is absolutely
praiseworthy. The Lady Pride had a rocky start to the season with dropping their
opening game and going 2-3 in their next five before they went on a 6 game
winning streak. The Lady Pride was in and out of the win column this year but, even
the losses were tight The Lady Pride games were decided by 3 or less runs.

The Lady Pride has punched their ticket into the tournament with their
opening game of the tourney against Averett in Rocky Mount. As their season came
to an end The Lady Pride finished strong with winning 4 of their final 6 games all by
large margins. The Lady Pride Dropped the last 2 to Piedmont College despite
consecutive losses they were still awarded a spot in the tourney.

Another positive within the team making the tourney is that theyre only
losing one player this year. Kelsey Sanfilippo is our only senior and leading strikeout
leader; its going to be hard to find someone to replace her talents next season. The
Lady Pride played well all season and had earned themselves the number 6 spot in
the tournament. In the opening round of the USA South Womens Softball
tournament held a match-up with Averett. During the season The Lady pride had
spilt the regular season series 1-1. With a 4-2 win over Averett the Lady Pride
advanced to the next round where they lost 7-1 to Huntingdon. After that they faced
Piedmont which ended in a 2-1 heartbreaking loss.

The Lady Pride finished the season with a 20-19 overall record and a 12-10
conference record. The Lady Pride have nothing to hang their head for they had a
swell season and next year will be even better.
 Baseballs Season Wrap up

After winning their opening game against Washington Lee the Pride dropped
9 straight before acquiring their second win against North Carolina Wesleyan in the
double header. After defeating the Battling Bishops, The Pride had Lost 11 straight
before acquiring the next win against Emory & Henry and defeating them by 3 with
and 10-7 victory before dropping another 3 games before earning their 4th win all
season. Their 4th win came in back to back to back against Maryville College, but
with clinching their 4th win they earned the number one spot on one of the worlds
most watched shows in Sportscenter.

With 5 games remaining on their 2014 schedule the Pride cant turn their
season around but they can begin a streak that may continue over into next season.
The Pride overall record doesnt reveal the whole story because an mass majority of
the losses were decided tight hard fought battles. Even though The Pride are losing
five key seniors in Blake Throneburg, Drew Baranosky, Jon Krecicki, Daniel
Longworth, and Zach Royals the team will be able to recruit to fill the void that
theyll leave behind. Despite all the struggles this season brought The Pride still
accomplish something stellar earning The number 1 spot on one of televisions most
watched shows on ESPN with their incredible triple play by The Prides Blake
Throneburg, Kyle Willard, and Andrew Ray.
