Setting IP- too set the IP we entered the network places in the OS and then set it in the internet
protocol. We then pinged both of the laptops to make sure the IP had been set. As you can see in this
picture
below.

Setting computer name- Too do this we entered the settings then computer information and changed
the name of the PC from there.

To set the work group-Open up system properties and go into

the option which asks if you want to change the system
properties for the workgroup set the workgroup to the same
thing as the other computer.
Using a ping to determine connectivity- To do this simply just write the command ping then the
computers IP.

Creating a user and password- To do this go into settings and create a new user from this and set the
password. Following the new user protocol.
Then share a folder over the network by clicking and dragging it into the other computers network.

Checking and adding network security- Go into the settings then change the settings for MAC
filtering so it is enabled. Also enable who's on my network so you can control who is allowed on
and who isn't allowed on the network.
