It is with great pleasure that I am writing to apply for the Childcare Program Director
position posted on Indeed. I highly value the YMCAs mission to have a positive
influence on communities and I would love to meet with you to discuss this exciting job
opportunity. I recently graduated from the top-ranked T. Denny Sanford School of
Social and Family Dynamics at Arizona State University where I received a B.S. in
Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Child Development.
During my course of study at Arizona State University, I was a Provost Scholar. I also
worked as a Childrens Ministry Supervisor at my local church throughout my junior
and senior years. I believe that my education and prior experience will help the YMCA
achieve its community outreach goals and empower youth through fun, educational
programs.

I am inspired by the YMCAs mission to create a community-centered environment that

fosters learning and growth. As a Human Development and Family Studies graduate, I
understand the important influence community has on child development. I realize the
positive psychological, social, and environmental effects a strong community can have
on children. I want to join the YMCAs efforts to engage children with their community
in Tucson.

The Childcare Program Director position requires skills in program development and
experience in management. My qualifications fulfill these requirements. I have been
trained to develop interactive programs for children and I have served as a staff leader
in a childcare setting for two consecutive years. At Arizona State University, I took the
class CDE 232 in which I created a childrens program. The program was designed to
increase youth community involvement and promote positive nutrition and physical
health behaviors through an interactive curriculum that included fun, engaging
activities. Furthermore, my two-year position as a Childrens Ministry Supervisor
allowed me to develop my leadership, management, and financial skills. I believe that
my experience aligns with the YMCAs mission to unify communities and facilitate
learning.

The YMCA is an influential organization that has had a positive impact on the lives of
many people, from young to old, in communities across the country. I would love to
