Create a Map Project

INTRODUCTION: This project will test your knowledge of the map skills and essentials
we have been discussing in class. It will provide you with the opportunity to create your
own map just like a cartographer would and to showcase your creativity. Attached is the
rubric I will be using to determine your grade on the project. It is very important that you
follow the rubric while planning and creating your map. Also, it is very important not to
lose this sheet or rubric.

DIRECTIONS: For this project, you will create your own map using the map essentials
we have discussed in class. You may choose to create a map based on Pokemon GO
or your own original map. Whichever you choose, you must follow the checklist below
and attached rubric to complete your map. If you choose to create a Pokemon GO
map, your 6 symbols must include the landmarks and the Pokemon characters you
found at each location. For an original map, you must include at least 6 map symbols
that relate to your map theme.

MAP CHECKLIST: Use this checklist to make sure you have all the necessary parts for
your map. To meet the standard here you must meet these minimum requirements.
