Barred Owls have nested next to Lake Erie Nature and Science Center for some years now, and
the female of the pair sat quietly in the favorite tree on the edge of the ravine by Porter Creek.
Red-headed Woodpeckers were very visible and active. Many birds were singing in the
unusually warm weather. On Lake Erie, gulls and mergansers clustered over a school of fish,
diving and quarreling over food.
