Located 5 km to east of Probolinggo town.
It is a hilly beach.
This beach weather is tropical.
Has good facilities with a vast area size.

Revising
Bentar beach location is in the east of Probolinggo
regency. It is 5 kilometers away from town of
Probolinggo to east or 15 kilometers to the west
direction of Kraksaan, the capital town of
Probolinggo regency. It is in the side of Surabaya
Banyuwangi highway alongside of the Java Sea
northcoast.
The area is surrounded by hilly land with flat coastal
line of about 2 kilometres and a wide area of
mangrove forest. The hilly land is mostly covered a
wide area in the southern part. The hill is called
Gunung Bentar by people living surrounding the area
and there is no housing at all in the hill as it belongs
to the Indonesia naval force property.
The weather is similar to mostly those of tropical
beaches. It is rather hot and humid. The annual
temperature goes exceed 26 - 35 oC and it reach its
highest temperature as high as 39 oC in October to
November.
Bentar beach has many interesting facilities for the
visitors. There is a wooden deck bridge directed to
the deeper part of the beach water and a wooden
deck across the mangrove forest as well. From this
wooden deck, visitor can view greenish hilly land,
mangrove vegetation and colourful fish wandering
around. Moreover, they can enjoy the fresh air
breezes creating a sensation of freshness. It also
provide children playground for those who want to
ask their children to play. It also provide the visitors
with some restaurants and small food stalls spread
over the areas.
The beach area is wide. It covers some hectares
area. There is bentar limestone hill from which the
beach gets its name. Also a wide area of mangrove
forest and the beach itself.
The mangrove vegetation covers about one third of
the area. There are several kinds of trees of a
mangrove forest exist there. The main well-known
species of mangrove tree grow well in the area. It is
the evergreen tree and is a front mangrove species.
It grows well in sheltered areas rather than open
seas exposed to the wave action. It generally grows
upto 3-5 meters. Leaves are about 10-20 cms long
and 2.5 - 7.5 cms broad. The existance of the forest
functions as the barrier of abrasion toward the sea
waves.
The mangrove forest produces much planktons
which indirectly emerges the biggest attraction of
the beach every year. It is the coming of a group of
whale sharks.
Besides, some animal creatures live in the mangrove
forest creating habitat of what a typical of tropical
mangrove forest. Mangroves form dense forests on
the shorelines through their root system, creating a
secured habitat for a variety of fauna. The muddy or
sandy sediments of the mangrove forest are home to
a variety of animals. A number of crab species live
among the roots, on the trunks or even forage in the
canopy. Insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds and
mammals thrive in the habitat and contribute to its
unique character.

the Probolinggo downtown to east or fifteen
kilometers to the west of Kraksaan, the capital town
of Probolinggo regency. It is in the side of Surabaya
