A.2 Torque values

Nokia Siemens Networks strongly recommends that you tighten to the

following torque values. These values assume the use of a lubricated bolt
or fastener. Use these values unless stated otherwise.

Appendix B Bending diameter for cables

B.1 Bending diameter for cables

The table below shows the minimum bending diameter of Nokia Flexi
EDGE BTS cables.

Static bending diameter refers to the allowed bend while the cable is fixed
(for example, when the cable is tied to the side of the cabinet). Dynamic
bending diameter refers to the allowed bend while the cable is in motion
(for example while routing the cable through the cable entry).

For the bending diameter of antenna jumper cables, refer to the cable
manufacturer.

Appendix C Configuration features

C.1 Flexi EDGE BTS configuration features

C.1.1 RF Cable Auto-detection

The Flexi EDGE Base Station supports automatic RF Cable Auto-

detection during commissioning for common configurations. RF Cable
Auto-detection reduces integration time because RF cabling does not
need to be manually defined.

For a description of RF Cable Auto-detection, see Auto-detection of Site

Configuration and RF Cable Auto-detection in the Nokia Flexi EDGE BTS
Feature Descriptions document.

For information on supported configurations, see RF auto-detection

supported configurations in the Nokia Flexi EDGE BTS Commissioning
document.

C.1.2 Optimised configurations

Upgrade-optimised configurations

In upgrade-optimised configurations, odd-number sectors (such as 1+1, 3

+3+3, 5+5) are built like the next even-numbered configurations. For
example, a 1+1 configuration is built like a 2+2 configuration, although the
site is operational as a 1+1. This allows easy future expansion with
reduced downtime. A site visit may not be needed for expansion.

RF Cable Auto-detection is supported with upgrade-optimised

configurations.

For examples of RF cabling in upgrade-optimised configurations, see

figures Example of a 1+1 upgrade-optimised configuration with Rx
diversity below and RF cables in 1+1+1/2+2+2 bypass 2UD configuration
in section Connecting RF cables.

Figure 34. Example of a 1+1 upgrade-optimised configuration with Rx diversity

Cost-optimised configurations

In cost-optimised configurations, the Dual TRX Module (EXxA) carriers (A

and B) are split into separate cell areas. Only pairs of odd-numbered
configurations can be cost-optimised (such as 1+1, 3+3). Cost-optimised
configurations minimise the number of modules and are not recommended
if future expansion is possible at the site.

RF Cable Auto-detection supports cost-optimised configurations.

Creating FCOA Configurations

For an example of RF cabling in cost-optimised configurations, see figures

RX cables in a cost-optimised 3+3 configuration and TX cables in a cost-
optimised 3+3 configuration in section 3+3 2-way 2UD cost-optimised
configuration.

Antenna-optimised configurations

Antenna-optimised configurations allow the Dual Duplexer Module (ERxA)

sides A and B to be split into separate cell areas. This minimises the
number of antennas.

A sector must have two or more antennas to support Rx diversity, as Rx

diversity is not supported across BTS cells.

RF Cable Auto-detection supports antenna-optimised configurations with

one exception: a BCF reset is needed instead of a sector reset, if any
changes to RF cabling are made during runtime.
