Regional Event Grant Application - IPSF Regional Events 2017


Call for Applications

The Development Fund Committee of the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) is
delighted to announce the timetable for applications regarding the 2nd round of Development Fund Event
grant for 2017.

There are five main events coordinated by IPSF in 2016, namely the World Congress and four regional
symposia, with each attracting hundreds of pharmacy students from all corners of the world to attend.
The program of these events consists of educational lectures, workshops, official federation meetings and
social events. This round of event grants is solely for those attending the IPSF regional events.

The accompanying information should be read in conjunction with the official application form and the
committee will consider only properly submitted applications. The last date for receipt of applications
will be the 31st of March 2017 11:59pm GMT+0.

AIM
The aim of this IPSF Development Fund Event grant is to promote the objectives of the Federation by
making it possible for students and young pharmacists to attend IPSF events regardless of their financial
circumstances.

EVENTS
Applications are invited from pharmacy students in order to attend:

1. The 6th IPSF African Pharmaceutical Symposium, Kumasi, Ghana, 4th-10th July 2017

2. The 11th IPSF Pan American Regional Symposium, Ottawa, Canada, 2nd 8th July 2017

3. The 16th IPSF Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium, Bangkok, Thailand, 21st 27th July 2017

4. The 6th IPSF Eastern Mediterranean Pharmaceutical Symposium, Kuwait City, Kuwait, 14th 19th
of July 2017

GRANT COVERAGE AND CRITERIA
The grant is awarded to attend the IPSF Regional events as stated above and may cover part or full
travel expenses (bus, train or flight tickets) from the applicants home country to the event and/or the
event registration fee up to a maximum of 500 Euro. The grant will be preferably paid by bank
transfer after participating in the event and submitting the required documents. In special cases the
grant may also be paid to the recipient at the event by cash.

Priority will be given to:


i. Applicants from low and lower middle income countries (as defined by the World Bank) or from
developing countries (as defined by the United Nations);
ii. Those who have served IPSF as a Contact Person, Student Exchange Officer, subcommittee
member or in some other way contributed to IPSF Projects;
iii. Students in their last year of study
iv. Those who will be attending an IPSF event for the first time and/or are the only representatives
from their countries.

Special attention will be given to expenses of the trip and how reasonable they are, motivation letter
and if other sponsors were approached.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applications should follow the guidelines contained within the official application and applications should
be submitted on the official form.
Applicants must send an electronic version of the application form with the title of email as
DFRE2017 Application Form - Name to Development Fund Coordinator (df@ipsf.org) by the
deadline, the 31st March 2017 11:59pm GMT+0.
Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified by the Development Fund Coordinator before the
23rd of April 2017.
