Aesthetic - enjoyment comes from something beautiful. These
may be rhythm and grace in dance, harmony of colours in a
painting, proportion in a sculpture and blending of sound in a
musical composition. Subject matter that provides and
emphasizes good tastes, high ideals, and love of the beautiful
should be developed.
Intellectual enjoyment comes from recognition and
admiration the form, technique or style that was used. These
may be how the writer creatively wrote his literary piece, the
form and structure of a poem or story, the technique of a
pianist, the way the painter tilts his brush. This is more of the
cognitive level of appreciation.
Interpretative - enjoyment comes from making and
understanding meanings through symbolisms. These may be
the symbolism present from the story, the values that a
character represents, the hidden meaning of a song. This is
more focused on the affective level since it aims to develop
values provided with the different of affective materials.
