Daily Schedule

8:45-9:20 Outside Time: Children have many choices about how they play in the outdoor learning
environment. Adults supervise for safety and join in the active play to support
childrens initiatives and problem solving.

9:20-9:30 Greeting Time: Adults share the daily messages with students. Plans for the day are made
and projects discussed.

9:30-9:40 Snack Time: Children enjoy a small morning snack in a family-style setting.

9:40-9:50 Planning Time: Children indicate their plans to adults using various materials and activities.
This allows a range of support for the childrens ideas.

9:50-10:50 Work Time: This is the childrens time of uninterrupted choice time. Children always
initiate the activities during this time and carry out their intentions. Children make
choices about where and how to utilize materials. Adults participate as partners in
the child-initiated play and encourage childrens problem solving skills both with
materials and socially.

10:50-11:00 Clean Up: Children and adults work together to clean up the environment placing toys back
into their labeled spaces.

11:00-11:10 Reflection: Gathered in a small group setting, children reflect and review the plans and
projects carried out during work time. Adults support and scaffold childrens ideas
to further future exploration and challenge continued projects.

11:10-11:30 Small Group Time: An adult-initiated learning experience based on the childrens interests
and development is explored. These activities are also based on developmental goals
in all domains of learning. Adults move child to child to offer individualized support
and scaffolding.

11:30-11:45 Large Group Time: This time, also known as circle time, offers planned activities with
adult and child participation. Typically, music/movement or stories with props are
explored.

11:45-12:15 Outside: refer to previous descriptor

12:15-12:30 Prepare for Lunch: Adults and children prepare themselves and the environment for lunch
time. If extra time permits, children read stories at the tables.

12:30-1:00 Lunch: Adults and children share a family-style meal engaging in meaningful conversations and
discussion regarding healthy, nutritious practices.

1:00-3:00 Rest Time: Children prepare their cot for rest time. The children quietly rest within their
own space. Rest time may include sleep or quiet activities for non-sleeping children.

3:00-3:15 Snack Time: Children will enjoy a small afternoon snack in a family-style setting.

3:15-3:45 Outside: Children engage in outdoor play, weather permitting. Also, at this time, students are
being dismissed to go home.
