Final Project: Poetry Collection Presentation

v About the Project:

This project will allow you to both read and write poetry. You have to
collect six (6) works of poetry (no more, no less) to present on Google
Slides by the end of the quarter. Half of the poetry has to be written by
you and the other half has to come from any reliable poetry source (i.e.,
library books, class textbook, credible websites, etc.). You will have 3-4
class periods to work in the librarys computer lab.

v Due Date: March 16

v General Requirements:
Created on Google Slides (not Microsoft PowerPoint)
Min. of 9 slides (Introduction, Table of Contents, 6 Poems, & References)
At least one (1) relevant picture on each slide
All text can easily seen/read (i.e., size, color)
Title & author indicated for each poem
All poems must be no more than 20 lines
NO vulgar or inappropriate content (i.e., sex, drugs, alcohol, etc.) in any of the poems
At least one (1) figurative language or poetic device (learned in class) present in each poem

v Poetry Requirements:
@ 3 Poems written by you:
1. Bio Poem
+2 more of any poetry form
one must be about your culture (at least 10 lines long)

@ 3 Poems from published authors that give an example of each of the following:
1. Quatrain
+2 more of any poetry form
cannot be any poem covered in class

All 6 poems must have a short description on the slide (may be in a paragraph or bullet points) that
describes/explains the following elements:
the poems theme
at least one figurative language/poetic device used
the poems form (ex: what features make it a sonnet? rhyme scheme, meter, # of lines, etc.)
why you wrote/picked that poem
