INTRODUCTION
Self acceptance is acceptance of self in spite of deficiencies. According to
shepard(1979)self acceptance is an individuals satisfaction or happiness with
oneself and is thought to be a necessary for good mental health. Self acceptance
involves self understanding a realistic, subjective, awareness of ones strengths and
weaknesses. It result in an individuals feeling about oneself, that they are of unique
worth.

In clinical psychology and positive psychology self acceptance is


considered the prerequisite for change to occur. It can be achieved by stopping
criticizing and solving defects of ones self and then accepting them to be existing
within ones self that is tolerating oneself to be in perfect in some parts.
OBJECTIVES
To know about the self acceptance of student teachers
To give an opportunity for student teachers to rate themselves
To promote the importance of self acceptance in student teachers
INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE TOOL
The tool used is a questionaire. According to Bogardus a questionnaire is a list of
questions sent to a number of persons to answer. A questionnaire consists of a
variety of the questions printed or typed in a definite order on a form which are
mailed further to the respondants. The main function or the objective of the
questionnaire is to collect data from the respondant, who are generally started in a
vast diverse data.

Questionaire is a structured series of written questions that generally ask


respondants to select from a limited set of possible answers. Questionaire are a
popular tool to gather data from a large number of people. Questionaires can be
thought of as a kind of written interview. In general questionnaires are effective
mechanism for efficient collection of certain kinds of information
HYPOTHESIS
Most of the student teachers are posses average self acceptance and very low
percentage of student teachers posses above or below average self acceptance.
DATA COLLECTION
Data collection is the process of gathering and measuring information from a
variety of sources to get a complete and accurate picture of an area of interest
.Here we use questionnaire for data collection .A questionnaire which contain 34
questions. It will distribute to 20 student teachers for evaluating their self
acceptance. The response of each question is true or false. If the response of the
student teacher is true, the mark obtained is 1.If the response of student teacher is
false the mark obtained is 0.The total mark obtained for each student teacher is
below 17 they have below average self acceptance .The mark obtained in between
17-25 they have average self acceptance. The mark obtained in between 25-34 they
have above average self acceptance.
METHODOLOGY
Here questionnaire is used as a methodology. Each questionnaire contains 34
questions. It will distribute to 20 student teachers for evaluating their self
acceptance. The response of each question is true or false.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATIONS
The survey method using Dr.kakkar self acceptance inventory tool conducted in
20 teacher student sample in SN college muvattupuzha. In this study there are
5%pupil shows above average self acceptance.55% show average self acceptance
in condition and 40% show below average self acceptance.

CONCLUSION

Here we have seen that most of the pupil have less self acceptance. It is important
to identify specific life styles choices, habits and character traits that you should
happily accept while also being objective about things you must want to work for
improving.

By doing this work we can understand the self acceptance of some


student teachers. From the study we can calculate that most of the pupil have less
self acceptance and understand how to improve the acceptance. Our hypothesis is
proved by this work.
