Kali Solo 1 pumps is dedicated to serves as input water treatment process for oil
refineries as well as for office and home consumption. The location is right on
the banks of Bengawan Solo river and located at a depth of 10 meters from
surface and relatively long distance from the area of monitoring room, so that
during this time the operators was very difficult to monitor real time condition of
the pump. There are has already three pumps installed, each with a capacity of
250 m3 / minute with power consumption of 55 kW at 1475 rpm rotation. In order
to field workers can at any time monitor pump condition, that is will require the
application by using a microcontroller and ethernet network so that the
constraints of distance and time and data errors can be avoided or even
eliminated and can predict the motor maintenance activities. This article will
explain the use of a microcontroller application to monitor the rotation of the
motor pump in real time by utilizing the local computer network based on fiber
optic. It is consists of three major devices namely a rotation sensor,
microcontrollers Atmega 128, server and nertwork type of fiber.
 Process and Instrumentation Diagram Development

The process and instumentation diagram (P&ID as it often called) represents a document
that can take on many different forms depending upon the following factors:

1) Nature of the process being depicted. The more complicated the process, or the more
one process is interconnected to other portions of the P&ID, the more complex the
P&ID will become.
2) The individual or firm performing the design work. Some firms do not feel the need to
develop P&Ids. This approach is used to achieve economies on system design.
3) Design philosophy. Some design philosophies include P&IDs as an item issued with
the instrumentation or electrical design (developed at the middle or end of the
project). Other design philosophies allow the P&IDs to be used as the basis for all
other design disciplines. In this philosophy, the electrical, mechanical, and piping
engineers on a project would start their work once the P&IDs are complete.
4) Intended audience once the design is complete.
