Can we stop cybercrime?

As we advance further into the modern age, newer technological advances

will dominate our society, but there is a problem that will arise from our
technological reliance. The problem is cybercrime. According to Interpol
Cybercrime is a fast-growing area of crime. Cybercrime involves the usage of a
computer and a network to either discredit, or hurt another person. There are many
different types of cybercrime, such as simple bullying and fraud, or to a more
nationally threatening cyber terrorism or cyber extortion. In this case I will be
focusing more on the smaller scale threats that happens commonly to everyday
people. These cybercrimes will be the phishing, cyberbullying, and hacking crimes.
Source 1: Theyre going to be a lot of legitimate sources, such as the FBI,
Interpol, and other government agencies because cybercrime is becoming a very
common crime since we are constantly evolving technology wise. My 1 st source will
be from the Interpol website: (https://www.interpol.int/Crime-areas/Cybercrime/The-
threats) Interpol is the worlds largest international police organization that holds
190 member countries. Interpol enables police around the world to work together
to make the world a safer place. Interpols primary role is to assist law
enforcement agencies around the world in combating all forms of transnational
crime and terrorism.
I believe the Interpol Website will be a beneficial source for my topic because
Interpol deals with cybercrime on a global level. Information from a legitimate
international government site like Interpol will offer unbiased information and offer
as a credible source of information.

Source 2: My second source will be the department of justices website. The

department of justice holds many examples of cybercrime, and even holds other
sources pertaining to other agencies, such as the FBI, Homeland Security, and
Secret Service. The website holds information regarding internet stalking, computer
hacking, and information on how America is combatting cybercrime. The United
States department of Justices website is very credible, and offers a lot of
information as well as cases that involve different types of cybercrime, which is
beneficial to my topic because I will be able to use different cases to explain the
consequences of cybercrime, as well as how they found out that a certain person
did a specific crime.
