Last year, students in grades 3-5 took
the math and reading state
assessment. On average, 54% were
proficient on the math assessment and
44% were proficient on the reading
assessment. Approximately 70% of
fourth grade students took the writing

Who are we?
Hollibrook Elementary (HBE) is part
of Spring Branch Independent
School District, a small district
nestled between Cypress-Fairbanks
Independent School District and
Katy Independent School district.
HBE serves 840 students in grade
Pre-K-5th, of which make up the
districts highest population of
English Language Learners (ELLs),
recent immigrants and students with
interrupted formal schooling (SIFE).
Our students come from five
apartment complexes on one street,
Pitner Road. Nearly 6,000 people
live on this street making it the most
populated area in Houston.
HBE is an improvement required
(IR) school in year four which was
recently awarded the cycle 4 TIPPS
grant from TEA in the sum of 8.5
million dollars to increase student
achievement.

HBE boasts a staff of 45 teachers, 8
certified interventionists, 5
