MAIN POINTS OF TREATMENT OF MERIDIANS (JING LUO)
The main points of systemic acupuncture treatment are those with special healing
properties. They do not exist in isolation but within twelve meridians (Jing Lu
o) regular and eight extra Jing Luo. Over and out of the meridians are located a
bout a thousand Chinese points which when stimulated can tonify or sedate certai
n organs or viscera and meridians. Between these points there are some with spec
ific and important function, called command points and divided into several cate
gories, the most important:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
Reinforcing points, sedation points, Twelve Points Yuan (Source); Fifteen Points
LO (connection) or exit IQ; Twelve Points of Consent Dorsal (Shu); Twelve Point
s of Consent Ventral (Mu) and Sixteen Points Alarm XI ( fissure). Old Five Point
s SHU (Jin Ying, Shu, Jing and Ho / He), 66 points are determined by five factor
s, very important for the balance of energy in the meridians.
Besides these categories, there are still many other important points classified
into the five elements, outside the meridian points, assembly points and specia
l points.
I - IMPORTANT POINTS AND SPECIAL FEATURES OF TONING POINT:
This is the point about Mother to the five elements represented in each Regular
Meridian and its stimulus causes the increase of energy in Southern and function
of each organ.
POINT OF SEDATION:
This is the point Son with relation to the five elements represented in each Reg
ular Meridian and its stimulus causes the decrease of energy in Southern and fun
ction of each organ. (Table 01) Sedation Methods of Reinforcing and points of th
e five elements in each meridian: The tone tones the child's mother. Sedation of

TWELVE POINTS YUAN SOURCE: It can produce both direct tone as sedation in Meridi
an. They act by restoring the balance of power, avoiding excesses and filling ne
eds. That is, stimulates the IQ, regulate the physiological functions of interna
l organs, serving to improve them metabolism, because they increase the pathogen
s. These points are near the wrist or ankle. Point "Yuan" means "origin" referri
ng to the source of IQ, by which pathological changes of the Zang-Fu system beco
me apparent. The twelve points Yuan deal with change of the internal organs. The
point of the Yuan affected meridian is often combined with point Luo / Lo (conn
ection) of the meridians. The twelve points Yuan (source) are in the category of
five points Shu. Each meridian has its own YANG Yuan (source), located between
the Shu-stream points and Jingnascente. The six meridians Yuan YIN have no point
s, ie points and Yuan Shu-yin meridians of the stream are the same.

FIFTEEN POINTS LUO / LO (CONNECTION) LO These points are points of connection of
two meridians, specially bound, ie, being a point where the Collateral begins t
o connect pairs defined Regular Meridians,€connected internally and externally i
n pairs. Stimulation of these points will be used to treat both meridians. Thus,
establishing a system of circulation of Qi and Xue through these meridians, to
warm and nourish the entire body. It also serves to vent excess energy and Merid
ian. Associated with the Yuan can transfer energy to the body or viscera engaged
. No connection between the LO of the Jing Luo (meridians) Yin and Yang, respect
ively. LO points are located below the elbow or knee. The Luo / Lo 12 points bor
n Jing Luo / Lo meridian of each distal to the elbows and knees, go to their mer
idian bound (superficial and deep). ). Luo Ren Mai is born of Jiuwei (Ren / VC 1
5), is developed on the abdomen. Luo Du Mai born Changqiang (Du/VG1), is distrib
uted in the head, with branches to Zu Tai Yang left and right. Great Pi Luo born
Dabao (BP21), spreads in the axilla and flank. Are places where the IQ of the m
eridians converge. Any damage to the LO will inhibit the movement of Qi and Xue,
Qi stagnating and clotting the Xue. These points are frequently applied in the
treatment of various chronic diseases involving internal injuries or pathologica
l accumulation of substances, since the meridians are involved with acute condit
ions and the Collateral with chronic diseases. In addition to the twelve meridia
ns and the ordinary or regular meridians, Ren and Du Mai-Mai, that they each hav
e their own point LO, Meridian Spleen-Pancreas LO has an extra point, the Great
LO. With this we have a total of fifteen points LO.

POINTS OF NOD NOD BACK AND BACK-SHU ASSENTIMENTOVENTRAL MU / MO-front Shu-back a
re specific points on the back of the body, systems-related Zang-Fu, where the I
Q is melted. Located on both sides of the spine, near the spinal ganglia, hence
the name Shu-Dorsal. The Front-Mu are reflex points located in the thorax and ab
domen, where the IQ of their systems Zang-Fu merge. The level of Mu points in th
e abdominal region is the level of the Shu points in the back and both are locat
ed on the same level of their systems Zang-Fu. Point Mu can belong or not to own
meridian. It connects directly to the organ or viscera. Shu points are always i
n the Bladder meridian (eg P is B13), each of which acts directly on the corresp
onding organ. Its action is generally sedating. By applying the points Mu-Shu an
d Front-back should take into account their characteristics Yin and Yang. IQ Poi
nt Mu Shu and communicates directly with their respective systems Zang-Fu and co
nstitute an important group of specific points.€Positive reactions such as tende
rness and pain in these points are important for diagnosis and treatment of alte
rations Zang-Fu, as the pathogenic factors can stay in pathologies resulting fro
m both the Zang-Fu system as the body surface. • • • • • The principles of selec
ting and Mu Shu points are (Table 8) in acute, often accompanied by fever, they
use the Shu points, chronic diseases, they use the Mu points, excess energy they
use the Shu points, falling energy use is the Mu points, at an advanced stage o

SIXTEEN POINT ALARM - XI URGE These points are places where the Meridian IQ is d
eeply converged. XI means "space". When the energy meridians are disturbed, pres
enting acute problems in the organs, is the place ("space" - Point XI - Alarm) t
hat there is accumulation of IQ. So these points are given to treat the changes
in their internal systems related, as well as the areas supplied by Meridian. Th
us, in the treatment of serious diseases, mainly infectious in nature. They also
function to relieve the acute pain of internal organs and to treat acute torsio
n,€since these selected points of the meridians pass through the area involved.
The combination of alarm points with eight points Influential (F13, VC12, VC17,
B17, VB34, P9, B11, and VB39) enhances the therapeutic effect. The Twelve Meridi
ans Ordinary Extraordinary and four each have their own point-Cleft XI. These po
ints are located below the elbows and knees, except for E34 which is at the top
of the knee. They are a group of important points in addition to the Five Points
SHU. The observation of the locations of these points helps in the diagnosis of
acute, because in these cases become sensitive. Punching these points can regul
ate the circulation of Qi and Xue in the affected areas. Point Alarm (Xi) is gen
erally not located on the same meridian, becoming sensitive in cases of affectio
n of the organ. They share general toning.

FIVE POINTS OF FORMER SHU (JIN, YING, SHU, AND JING HO / HE) These points are lo
cated along the twelve regular meridians and are located distally of the elbows
and knees, that is, between the elbow and the tip of your fingers, or between th
e knee and the tip of the toes. They are called: Jin / Jing-East; Ying-Manacial;
Shu-Stream, River and Jing-He / Ho-Mar. Comparing thus the flow of qi meridians
to the volume of water flow in different parts of nature. Its functions are als
o different. • Items Jin-Spring (well) treat the coma, syncope and shock. • The
Ying-Manacial (stream) to treat acute febrile diseases. • The Jing-River treat s
ore throats. • The Shu-Stream (stream) treat arthralgia or chronic inflammations
. • The He-Sea (estuary) treat intestinal disorders. According to the book Nan-J
ing, Jin is the point of diseases that have epigastric oppression. Point Ying is
used to treat the acute phase of disease who have a fever, according to Li Ding
. The Shu point deals with the pain or heaviness in the joints, neuralgia interm
ittent and chronic inflammatory processes. The point is Jing dyspnea, cough, chi
lls and fever; settle the imbalance in the function of the meridians. Point Ho t
reats diarrhea, and for acute colitis is associated with the meridian of GI Ho (
GI 11) and Ho point lower than the same meridian (E 37), regulates the physiolog
ical functions of Zang-Fu. In each a twelve regular meridians are the five shu p

II-DIAGNOSTICS
DIAGNOSTICS BASED ON MERIDIANS / JING LUO diagnosis based on Jing Luo, is the us
e of the theory of Jing Luo to guide the diagnosis. Jing Luo theory applied to t
he diagnosis can be divided broadly into two aspects: • • First is to look for u
nusual changes in skin surface, including changes in color, feel, appearance, te
mperature and power quality. Second is using to systematise the Jing Luo symptom
s, called for identifying the standard by Jing Luo. The basic principles of diag
nosis by Jing Luo are based. partitioning of the Jing Luo, its physiological fun
ction and pathophysiological. Diagnosis through the Jing Luo was born and develo
ped over the medical practice.
SKIN MANIFESTATIONS reflections when the body is sick, some skin areas may have
spots or areas with changing color, appearance, sensation, temperature or electr
ical resistance, are called positive skin responses.€You can use the locations a
nd nature of positive skin responses to support the diagnosis. Of course, this m
ay not be the only data you need to add other information obtained from inspecti
on, listening / smelling, interrogation and palpation for analysis, so it is pos
sible to reach a correct diagnosis. The methods to look for the positive skin re
sponses are: INSPECTION OF acupuncture point is a method that uses the vision to
observe changes in color as well as the appearance of the meridian point or to
diagnose diseases. The inspection should be performed under natural light with s
ufficient intensity. The color changes Luo Mai may reflect the nature of: Xu, Ha
n, Shih and Re of disharmony. The most obvious and visible locations to be obser
ved are: thenar region, dorsal ear, lower eyelid. In general term, blue relates
to cold, pain and Gan. Red relates to heat and Xin. Yellow relates to heat and P
i. White relates to Shi (humidity) and Fei. Black
relates to cold, and Xu Shen (Kidney). Deepening and invisibility of tion surfac
e is cold and Xu Zheng. Suurgimento The red line in the body, with pain on palpa
tion, represents warmth and Shih (Fullness). Palpation of acupuncture point palp
ation this method is the path of the meridians, to detect points with positive s
kin responses. Palpation method: to use the thumb and index finger to palpate th
e meridians and points to locate the positive responses, the most common tricks
are: • • • • Slipping softly, using the fingertip it follows along the path meri
dian, combining rotary and sliding motion with little power to detect the superf
icial skin responses. Massage: is similar to the slide, but with little harder t
o detect the deeper skin responses. Stir: Using the tip of the thumb, with movem
ents of the lateralization, following the path of the meridian, to detect the de
eper skin responses. Pushing: Using fingertip, with appropriate force pushing al
ong the path of the meridian, usually in the back injury.
On examination, the patient must be relaxed in a comfortable position. The exami
ner must apply the force evenly. POSITIVE SKIN RESPONSES The positive skin respo
nses include objects of positive responses, changes in aspects of items and chan
ges in sensitivity. • Objects of positive responses: the objects of positive res
ponses are evidenced by palpation aspects, different volumes and consistency. Th
e most common are: Nodules: they can be rounded, olive-shaped, flattened into sp
indle-shaped egg. Of different sizes can be: big as a bean and small as a grain
of rice. Usually it is the size of a grain or soy beans, with the smooth surface
of varying consistency, mobility, small, usually located in the subcutaneous ti
ssue. Strings: larger size can have pencils, children as sewing needles with a l
ength from 0.5 to 10 cm, consistency firmer, elastic, usually are located in the
subcutaneous tissue. Node sponge: soft consistency produces a palpable sense of
a gas bubble, like a sponge.
• •
CHANGE OF APPEARANCE OF POINTS Sometimes it can be observed elevation at or surr
ounding area, feel soft to palpation, or appears depressed, feeling hard on palp
ation. SENSITIVITY CHANGES
To palpate the meridians and points, the patient reports paresthesia or hyperest
hesia. Usually the sites of positive changes can appear as pain, tenderness or n
umbness of varying degree. LOCAL AND SEQUENCE palpation Generally, the whole bod
y can be examined by palpation. But often palpate Du Mai, Hua Tuo Jia Ji, Shu Do
rsal, Mu and Xi and He points lower limbs. Du Mai: presence of positive response
s in Du, after exclusion of local disease, can diagnose disease Zang Fu Shu poin
t corresponding to the same level. Hua Tuo Jia Ji: The positive responses of the
points usually represent cervical diseases of the upper limbs, head and face. R
epresent points of thoracic diseases of internal organs. Lumbo-sacral points rep
resent diseases of lower limbs, small and large intestines, uterus, prostate and
genito-urinary and reproductive systems. Shu, Mu and Xi: the positive responses
represent diseases of Zang Fu match. He bottom: the positive responses of the s
ix diseases represent Fu. There is a rule that exists between local nature of th
e appearance of positive responses, place and nature of the disease, is still wa
iting for a better future synthesis.€ELECTRICAL DETERMINATION OF POINT There is
a certain electrical resistance on the body surface. When you're sick, the point
s of the meridians may appear points or areas with low electrical resistance. Th
e locations of any examination are: • • • Point Yuan: where changes may reflect
the situations of l2 Shih Xu Jing Jing Mai Point: where changes has the same mea
ning of the amendment of section Yuan. Shu: the amendment reflects the condition
s of the Zang Fu.
Broadly speaking, a double difference between the measured values of left and ri
ght has diagnostic significance. Comparing the meridians, the balance over one t
hird of the average value (more or less) may have diagnostic significance. Condu
ctance is greater Shih (Excess) and smaller and Xu (Deficiency).
DETERMINATION OF SENSITIVITY TO HEAT is a method of diagnosis by Jing Luo. Using
incense burning or electric heat source, heats the points or bilateral Jing Shu
, determining its heat tolerance, is measured in seconds. Compares the differenc
e between the values obtained between right and left, to help diagnose the disea
se.
Generally, the difference between double values of law and the Left has diagnost
ic value. The comparison between the meridians, the balance over one third of th
e average value (more or less) may have diagnostic significance. Shih greater va
lue and lower and Xu.
OPERATING POINT OF HEADSET
When you're sick, you can submit positive responses in the corresponding sites i
n the pinna. Based on this fact, we can diagnose and guide treatment. The operat
ing methods of ear points include: • • Inspecting the naked eye can often be see
n through the disorder of pathological changes in appearance and color of the pi
nna. Ear sensitive points: the achievement of palpation, one should apply a unif
orm force, with mild and soft, moving slowly. Sensitive points are unbearable pa
inful sensation from the inside out, with characteristic prick, pain, distension
, burning, and paresthesia. The false-positive points have normal sensation of d
ull pain, and pain on palpation superficial tolerable. It is necessary to distin
guish the false from the true positive. When the painful area is relatively larg
e, it should detect the most sensitive point.
