The 8th Habit from effectiveness to greatness Pain As Carl Rogers once said, "wh

at is most personal is most common." People expect new wing facing increasingly
intense to produce more for less in an extraordinarily complex world, but simply
not allowed to use the major part of his talent and intelligence. Despite all o
ur progress on the technology, product innovation and global markets, most peopl
e do not develop in organizations where they work. Above all, do not believe tha
t they can make a big difference • Why eighth habit? The eighth habit is not a m
ere addition to the other seven, a habit that somehow had been overlooked. The e
ighth habit is to find your voice and inspire others that may find yours. The ei
ghth habit is the way to the enormously promising side of today's reality. Contr
asts sharply with the pain and frustration that I have described. In fact, it is
an eternal reality. It is the voice of the human spirit, full of hope and intel
ligence, strong by nature, with endless potential to serve the common good. This
voice also encompasses the soul of the organizations that will survive, prosper
and have a profound impact on the future of the world. All that is needed for e
vil to triumph is that good men do nothing.
When we are inspired by some great purpose, extraordinary project, all your thou
ghts break their bounds. The mind transcends limitations, your consciousness exp
ands in every direction and we are in a new, great and wonderful. The core of em
powerment as women who are alone or in groups governed by rules synergistic choo
se to become independent entrepreneurs who work at home or in your neighborhood
to achieve wealth, prosperous and viable. They have found their own voice. The v
ision of what is possible can suddenly erupt into consciousness. However I have
seen that in general terms, the vision appears when the person is aware of any h
uman need and responds to trying to satisfy his conscience. He has found his voi
ce inspired others to find theirs. Today, the microcredit movement is spreading
worldwide. Few of us can do great things, but we can all do small things with gr
eat love. • Pain - the problem - the solution. In short, to guide you so you can
find their voice. The reader will discover that this influence and this leaders
hip comes from the election, not the position or range. The best way to overcome
the pain and find a lasting solution is, first, understand the essential proble
m that causes pain.
Solving the problem arises from a fundamental break with the old way of thinking
. Chapter one briefly discussed the painful reality. Chapter two identifies the
key problem. In chapter three provides an overview of the solution is the eighth
habit and developed in the other chapters. The problem is essential to understa
nd the problem and the profound implications of Drucker's prophetic statement, w
e must first consider the context of history and, more concrete, the five eras o
f the voice of civilization. The fact is that the factory of the industrial age
produced 50 times more than family farming and, over time farmers decreased by 9
0%. Those who survived and continued engaging in agriculture embraced the concep
t of the industrial era and created the industrial culture. The quality knowledg
e work is so valuable that unlock its potential offers organizations an extraord
inary opportunity for value creation. The industrial age mentality that still pr
evails today in the workplace simply serve us in the era of the knowledge worker
or his new economy • The mentality of the industrial age reified during the ind
ustrial era, the main asset and the key drivers of economic prosperity were mach
ines and capital. People were necessary but replaceable. Many of our modern mana
gement practices have their origins in the industrial age.
We were shown concept of accounting, which provides to persons and machines as e
xpenses as assets. The problem is that managers today continues to implement the
control model of the industrial age to knowledge workers. People think that dec
iding what should be done only in the hands of those in positions of authority.
The defects of each part reinforcing and ultimately justify the conduct of the o
ther.€When a manager more control, more behaviors arise that need more control o
r direction. If we see this material according to the weaknesses of others we pr
event our own empowerment and feed these weaknesses to continue robbing our live
s of initiative, energy and enthusiasm. • Film: Max & Max is the fictional story
of Max, the dog house, and Max, the head of customer service. At the level of t
he organization, a management philosophy based on control makes the performance,
communication,
compensation / rewards, training information and other basic systems suppress th
e voice talent and human being. There is a fundamental lack of trust and many or
ganizations lack the capacity and mindset necessary to resolve their differences
in an authentic and creative. On the personal level, these organizations are fi
lled at all levels of smart, creative and talented to sit handcuffed, undervalue
d and uninspired.

The power of a paradigm If we make changes and improvement of minor in a gradual
, work practices, behaviors or attitudes. If we want to make improvements large
and important work with paradigms. The problem is that the paradigms, as well as
traditions do not disappear without the erroneous paradigms remain valid for ce
nturies after it was discovered a better one.

People can choose First, we are not treated fairly. Second, suppose you pay us w
hat is right because we are not treated very well. Third, suppose that we are no
t paid properly and treat us well, but when you need our opinion nobody asks us.
Fourth, suppose we pay correctly (body), they treat us well (heart) and we can
practice in a creative way (mind). Fifth, suppose that we are not paid properly,
they treat us well and we can practice in a creative way in meaningful work. Bu
t today was the knowledge worker and l information, only those who are respected
as whole persons with a complete job. Choose one of three top choices.
The solution irrespective of their position, these people changed before themsel
ves from the inside out. His character, competence, initiative and positive ener
gy. They had a sense of identity very solid and rooted,
had discovered their strengths and talents and applied to meet needs and produce
results. Other realized and thus gave them more responsibility. This solution i
nto two parts, is a map for people at all levels of an organization to maximize
their development and influence, become partners and replaceable and inspire his
team and all of your organization to do likewise. • Finding a common voice Ever
yone chooses one of two paths in life, the path to greatness and meaning. The ra
nge of possibilities between these two destinations is as wide as the diversity
of gifts and personalities of the human race. The road to mediocrity limited hum
an potential. The path to greatness and made free of this potential. There is a
word that expresses the path to greatness. Voice, who follow this path find thei
r voice and inspire others to find theirs. The others never do. • Film: discover
y of character. The central character of this extraordinary story is an Englishm
an who had passed his childhood in the streets to become a fairly successful wri
ter with a nice house and a very loving family. However, at the time of the stor
y suffered from the so-called "writer's block." It seemed his creativity had run
out. He was very discouraged. I could not even sleep.
Rewritten, but with an enthusiasm that I chose and had never felt. The vision of
contribution impassioned and consumed him. He no longer felt debts or discourag
ement. • Inspire others to find their voice when we recognize and respect the ot
her, when we create ways for them to give voice to the four parts of his nature
- physical, mental, emotional / social and spiritual - is released wit, creativi
ty, passion, talent and motivation that were latent. • Getting the most out of t
his book: learning through teaching and practice. The first is to teach others w
hat you learn, the second is to apply what you learn in a systematic way: practi
ce it!. • Integrating our lives we learn to know and not really is not knowing.
In other words, to understand something but not implement it, is tantamount to n
ot understand. The knowledge and understanding only internalizes doing, apply.
FINDING A VOICE first part discover our voice OWN: gifts of birth not discovered
the power to discover our voice lies in the potential that we were given at bir
th. Basically we can not imagine what a person may be able to. As we are liberat
ed from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. • Our first g
ift of Birth: The freedom to choose. In essence we are the product of choice, no
t nature, genes, or culture (education, environment). There is no doubt that gen
es and culture are often exert great influence, but we are not determined. The e
ssence of being human is the ability to choose their own life. Literally, we cre
ated the world in which we live. The great psychologist and philosopher William
James taught consistently that when we change our thinking, change our life. • O
ur second gift of birth: principles or natural laws. The body is a natural syste
m. It is governed by natural law. No measure of positive mental attitude could a
void the literal limits of my physical preparation muscles. First, that all huma
n beings harbor land this curious idea that they must behave in a given form and
in the background, can not get rid of it. The second, in fact, do not behave we
ll. They know the natural law and broken. • natural and moral authority. The nat
ural authority is the domain of natural laws.
Nature has also made human beings the impression of freedom and the right to cho
ose and, consequently, has a natural authority or dominion over all the rest of
creation. Moral authority is the exercise based on principles of our freedom and
our right to choose. Values are social norms are personal, emotional, subjectiv
e and debatable. Moral behavior requires the sacrifice of short-term selfish int
erests and exercise the courage to subordinate social values to principles. • Ou
r third gift of birth: the four
intelligences / capacities of our nature The four parts of our nature are magnif
icent body, mind, heart and spirit. Mental Intelligence (MI) is, our ability to
analyze, reason, think abstractly using language, visualize and understand. Phys
ical Intelligence (IF) is responsible for the respiratory system, circulatory sy
stem, the nervous and other vital systems. Emotional intelligence (EI) is the se
lf-knowledge, self-awareness, social sensitivity, empathy and the ability to com
municate successfully with others. Spiritual intelligence (IES) represents our w
ill to meaning and connection with the infinite

The semantics and the higher nature of spiritual intelligence who can not change
the very fabric of his thoughts will never change reality, and therefore will n
ot make any progress. Spiritual intelligence is a gift that higher emotional int
elligence. They recognized that we can not think or live
independently in an interdependent world. The road to moral authority, personal
fulfillment, and the beneficial influence is not a habit unique to the great wor
ld leaders. The potential for moral authority essential, is big and quiet inside
each of us. • Development of the four intelligences, abilities in many ways, ou
r efforts to develop these
intelligence have a profound impact on our ability to influence and inspire othe
rs to find their voice. Behind every noble life are the principles that have for
med. Based on four simple assumptions we can immediately start taking a more bal
anced life, integrated and able to express our voice, vision, discipline, passio
n and conscience Vision is seeing with the mind's eye what is possible in people
, projects in the cause and in business. The vision is when our mind relates pos
sibility and necessity. Discipline is paying the price to bring that vision to r
eality. Is to address the hard facts, paradigmatic and brutal reality and do wha
tever it takes to make change happen.
Passion is the fire, desire, strength of conviction and the momentum that sustai
ns the discipline to achieve the vision. Passion comes when human need is superi
mposed personal talent. Conscience is the inner moral sense of what is good and
bad alo, the impulse toward meaning and contribution. Is the force that guides t
he vision, discipline and passion. • The vision, discipline and passion rules th
e world Any person who has exercised a profound influence on other people, in in
stitutions or in society,€any parent who has had an influence generations. All h
ave in common three tributes vision, discipline and passion. When the vision, di
scipline and passion are governed by a formal authority with no conscience or mo
ral authority, also change the world but not even good, but to evil. Instead of
carrying, destroy, instead of last, just disappearing. or Vision is seeing a fut
ure state with the eye of the mind. Vision is imagination applied. All things ar
e created twice: first, a mental creation, and second, a physical creation. Perh
aps the most important vision of all is to develop a sense of self, a sense of o
ur own destiny, a sense of our mission and our unique role in life, a sense of o
utlawed and meaning. Cultivate the habit of say to people known to them frequent
ly and sincerely we want from them.
Recall again the incredible effect of the fact that someone tell us who believe
in us (our potential) when we believe in ourselves (our history) or Discipline i
s embodied willpower. Define and accept reality, is the willingness to completel
y immerse yourself in it instead of denying it. Recognizes the callous and bruta
l facts of things as they are. People who lack discipline and are unable to subo
rdinate and satisfied, simply play to work. In general people who devote their t
ime to prepare excuses is that no north and discipline. Setbacks are inevitable,
suffering is an option. There are always reasons, there are never excuses. or a
rises from the heart and passion is manifested in the form of optimism, enthusia
sm, emotional connection, determination. The enthusiasm is deeply rooted in the
ability to choose, not in the circumstances. The key to creating passion in life
is to find our talented staff, our role and purpose in the world. It's importan
t that we do not know ourselves before deciding which is the work that we do. or
Consciousness is the moral law within us, is where the moral law and consistent
behavior.
In fact is so obvious as the fact that trust requires honesty. Consciousness and
ego or conscience is that little voice within us. It's quiet. It is peaceful. T
he ego is a tyrant, despot and dictator. The ego focuses on the survival, in the
ir own pleasure and self-improvement without regard to others: his ambition is s
elfish. The ego acts before the real crisis but has few criteria to determine it
s severity or its threat. Conscience has sound criteria and detects the degree o
f threat. It has a wide repertoire of responses. He sees life as a continuum. It
is capable of a complex adaptation, the ego does not rest, controls everything.
The ego prevents our empowerment. The ego is threatened by negative feedback an
d punishes the messenger. The ego is shortsighted and interprets all life in ter
ms of its agenda. • Film: Stone Stone was the target of several top clubs when,
during a match, an opponent he made an entry that destroyed his knee. Your caree
r is over. Stone could have harbored a desire for revenge. Instead he chose his
reply. Use your imagination (vision) and their awareness to inspire and influenc
e children and youth "problem" of Uganda, otherwise
would have been lost in life there is no scope of work, a model to follow and ho
pe. or First part: finding a voice of their own: a summary and a final challenge
to be a whole person (body, mind, heart and spirit), with four basic needs (liv
e, learn, love, leave a legacy), four intelligence or ability (physical , mental
, emotional and spiritual) and its higher manifestations (discipline, vision, pa
ssion and conscience), which together represent the four dimensions of voice (ne
ed, talent, passion and conscience). When we respect, develop, integrate and bal
ance these intelligences and its higher manifestations, the synergy between them
illuminates our inner fire and found our voice.
