of the resultant R and the angle between the x-axis and the line of action of the resultant. Consider P =
800 N, T= 600 N, and the length BC = 6cm.

Problem 2
Use the law of sines & cosines, in conjunction with sketches of the force triangles, to find the magnitude
of the resultant R and the angle between the x-axis and the line of action of the resultant. Consider F =
100 lb, angle that F makes with x-axis: 30 deg, T= 80 lb, angle that T makes with x-axis: 20 deg.
