TJ Tejas, 100 First product series, MC MultiSlot-Chassis, 4L

STM-4 product, L Large. .
It can be configured as a ADM in a STM 1/4 ring or TM with 1+1 MSP

for STM 1/4.
Maximum traffic support 252 for E1s, 12 for E3s equivalent of 4 VC-4s
for Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet (GbE).

Serial Interface: 2 Serial ports with DB 9 interface with a baud rate 9600.
Alarm Display Panel: Power LED indicates node is powered up, Critical,
Major, Minor, Deferred LEDs are present to indicate severity of alarms.
MFC 1 card consumes 4W, at 12V DC.
Cross Connect Card - XCC16L
Two cross connect cards for redundancy in slots 6 and 7.

The cross connect card contains fabric for 4x4 STM-4 (16x16 STM-1
equivalent).
Strict
sense, non-blocking with 2.5G cross connect capacity operating at
VC12/VC-3/VC-4 granularity.
Line to Line, Line to Tributary, Tributary to Line, Tributary to Tributary.

A Hot Swap switch is present in the card for switching the card from master
to slave (for switching over to redundant card).
The card contains a synchronization module (BITS Clock port with a DB 9

interface).
Power is on and the card is recognized Status LED glows GREEN.
The card is fully up - Active LED glows GREEN.
System Control Unit SCU 4
Two SCU 4 cards for redundancy in slots 8 and 9.

The SCU card contains processor, memory, and hard disk with a
Diag for accessing the processor and memory.
The SCU card initiates configuration and control of the other cards in
the system at boot-up.
The SCU card contains the Hot Swap switch to switch from master to
slave (for switching over to redundant card).
The SCU card also contain Reset button to perform a warm reboot.
The SCU card consumes a maximum power of 8 W.

1 port STM1e/E4, electrical interface through 75 ohm BNC connectors.
Port can be user configured to take either E4/STM1e traffic.
Power dissipation 12W.

Card Population Rule
Card Population rule gives the allocation of telecom buses to the

various tributary slots.
Some of the telecom buses are shared between different tributary slots.
An aggregate card when inserted in a slot consumes bandwidth from

telecom buses without provisioning any cross connects and use any of
the free telecom bus in the slot they occupy.
A tributary card when inserted in a slot consumes the bandwidth from

telecom buses only when cross connects are provisioned.
The bandwidth from telecom buses is consumed from the top telecom
bus to the bottom telecom bus in the card population rule.
