Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study

Design is an art optimized to meet objectives

In todays modern age computer is the way of life. One of the most enduring

arguments in architecture especially in the academic sphere is the battle between

hand drawing and computer aided. Historically, the ability to draw by hand- both in

creating precise technical drawings and expressive sketches- has been central to

the architecture profession. While computer drawings are becoming more and more

involved in designers day-to-day, drawing still finds itself in the process of

architectural design.

Both to create precise technical drawings and expensive sketches have been

central to the architecture profession. But, with the release and subsequent

popularization of computer aided design or known as cad programs early in 1980;

the prestige of hand drawing has been under siege. It all seemed to believe that

cad and hand drawing could perfectly co exist, as most seemed to feel that

sketching was an ideal tool for forming ideas and design software was more suited

to the precision and clarity that is required at the later stages of the project.

Traditionally, architecture was drafted by hand because computer programs were

not widely available until just recently. Now that programs like Revit and Sketch-up

are popular in the design world, we are losing the art of hand drafted documents.

This study aims to know which would be faster and convenient to use in

Architecture field. Both sides are provides advantages and disadvantages in

Architectural field. As designers and drafters, it should understand that both hand

drafting and computer aided drafting have a place in Interior Design and

Architecture. Having a variety of sketches, construction documents, and hand drawn

details can really expand upon the designs you have in mind for a client, as well as

give a personal quality to the work.

Design education needs to foster confidence in less experienced designers. One

way this may be achieved is to provide students with greater awareness of the

character of design tools, their strengths and limitations. This awareness would help

them better understand the role tools play as they are used in support of the design

process as well as providing students with opportunities to reflect upon their own

approaches to design activity and tool use. This awareness will come from

opportunities to use tools in studio work. However, knowledge must also be

developed through an education that describes and makes more explicit the

relationships between tool, tool user and context of use.

1.3 Statement of the problem

This study aims to determine which is often used in Architectural field. Here the

study sought to answer the following question:

Which is the absolute accuracy can be maintained?

The Time Factor
What are the ramifications of architects who cant draw, or of architects
who cant use computer applications?
Which is more Environment Friendly?
Which is easier to modify?

1.4 Theoretical Framework

The researcher would like to give emphasis that the conceptual framework is

the theory of the project study where it could address of what the purpose of the

study is all about. This study aims to elaborate the convenience and output of the

two different method used in architecture

Manual drafting: Hand drawings charm the clients, especially if

they watch you drawing said flavia. It is also provides practical

advantages that can help you to motivate in hand drawing drawings,

thinking of finding out more invested, more created when drawing a

design compared to designing directly on a computer cad is mandatory

because of tight schedules and 3d visualizations.

Computerized drafting: To do either well, both are equally time-

consuming. But the nice thing about computer drafts is that

they are easy to change, said Collin Pullman. All the advantages of

the electronic documents are available with CAD geometry, but that is

only one of the reasons why CAD is used rather than manual drawings.

The CAD packages, especially the 3D CAD packages, come with many

more advantages, but the most important among them were discussed

in the article.

1.5 Conceptual Framework

Throughout the gathered information of concepts, the researcher formulated the

organization to be adapted in the current problem of the study. The paradigm

demonstrates the relationship of each input independent variable where it

undertakes certain development (intervening variable) that would possibly help

crate and output.

1.6 Definition of terms

The following terms are defined as follows:

Aided - to provide what is useful or necessary.

Academic sphere - activity or interest is a particular area of activity or
interest.
Accuracy the ability to work or perform without making mistakes.
CAD Computer Aided Drafting.
Drawing a picture image, that is made by making lines on surface
with a pencil, pen, marker, chalk or etc., nut usually not with paint.
Manual doing or involving hard physical work; or relating using the
hands.
Optimized to make as good or as effective as possible.
Paradigm a theory or a group of ideas about how something should

be done, made or thought about.

Precision exactness or accuracy.
Ramifications something that is the result of an action, decision, etc.
Siege a serious and lasting attack of something.
Sought past tense of seek; to search for.
Theoretical relating to what is possible or imagined rather than to

what is known to be true or real.

Technical relating to the practical use of machines or science in

industry.
