LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE for Arts Integrated Lessons

Grade Level: Kindergarten Title: Readers Theater Lesson

Enduring Understanding: Students will be able to identify characters, setting, and main
events in a story.
Students will be able to play a characters role from the story.
Overview: The class will be split in half. Samantha will take one group
and use the story One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish .
Kelleys group will be reading The Little Red Hen. We will
begin by reading the story and writing down characters, plot,
setting, etc. After reading, we will assign students with
different roles so they will be able to participate in a readers
theatre session using adaptations from the stories. Once we
have ran through the scripts twice we will then switch groups
so each student can participate in both stories.
Objectives: SWBAT: Students will be able to participate in readers theater.
