1 She is so good at making people feel like they can participate and understand things. 3/3/2017 1:46 PM

2 -knows a lot about the topic 2/28/2017 6:48 PM

3 She is a really nice person and is an overall good teacher, but she grades tests and quizzes, in my mind, very harshly. 2/28/2017 6:02 PM
She can't really let anything slide and only accepts the exact answer she wants. She subtracts quite a few points on
smaller details instead of looking at the accuracy of the answer as a whole.

4 good at explaining. Helpful. 2/28/2017 1:07 PM

5 I think the high amount of homework can be stressful and makes the class feel too fast 2/28/2017 1:02 PM

6 Ms. Lynch is very clear and answers all my questions. She is organized and keeps class interesting. 2/28/2017 12:58 PM

7 I feel as if homework is graded a little too harshly at times. 2/28/2017 12:54 PM

8 Very clear and organized 2/28/2017 12:49 PM

9 She is very clear and has an organized presentation of material. She is thorough and covers everything that we need 2/28/2017 12:29 PM
to know.

10 Good at answering questions and making things understandable 2/28/2017 12:25 PM

11 Ms. Lynch is very clear with the material and explains it well. She also allows us to ask many questions so that we can 2/28/2017 12:17 PM
relate the material to things in our lives.

12 Ms. Lynch is very patient and calm and creates a positive and productive learning atmosphere. 2/28/2017 11:10 AM

13 She is great at explaining the topics and I feel like I can understand the material better when she answers my 2/28/2017 9:46 AM
questions.

14 Very knowledgeable and good at explaining 2/28/2017 9:45 AM

15 She's just awesome in general. 2/28/2017 9:41 AM

16 Using different ways to teach the class 2/28/2017 8:47 AM

17 Ms. Lynch is really good at varying what we do in class. 2/28/2017 8:43 AM

Q3 How can the teacher improve her/his

teaching so that students could learn more
effectively?

1 She could try to keep the class on track more. But at the same time I am really fascinated by all the questions asked 3/3/2017 1:46 PM
so I am not sure.

2 Be a little less harsh when it comes to tests, quizzes, do-nows, and other assignments. I understand that when 2/28/2017 6:02 PM
something is wrong or not quite to it's full potential you need to take off points, but sometimes it is too much.

3 Could improve on getting back assignments faster 2/28/2017 1:07 PM

4 we could have fewer major assessments or homework so that students can focus more on learning and less on 2/28/2017 1:02 PM
constant work

5 I really like the way she teaches and honestly dont know. 2/28/2017 12:58 PM

6 Also, maybe have better study methods for tests by having things like problem sets. 2/28/2017 12:54 PM

7 Not grade our notes 2/28/2017 12:49 PM

8 She grades homework for accuracy which I think is a little bit unfair. I feel like homework is a time to develop an 2/28/2017 12:29 PM
understanding for the material, not to have a polished final product. Not that homework should be graded solely based
on competition, but I would spend like 45 minutes working on a certain homework assignment just to get a B on it.

9 Not grade homework so harshly because it's the time for learning/practicing 2/28/2017 12:25 PM

10 I think it would be beneficial to have a larger variety of activities so that we can get up and move around more in class. 2/28/2017 12:17 PM

11 When taking notes on the board, make them actually correlate. She tends to write random things that are hard to 2/28/2017 11:10 AM
follow.

12 I think her teaching is very effective. Keep up the good work! 2/28/2017 9:46 AM

13 Less reading for homework I felt pretty uninspired to do biology while dragging myself for an hour over that textbook I 2/28/2017 9:45 AM
would like to see more diverse forms of reading or homework

14 Less lectures 2/28/2017 8:50 AM

Q6 What is an example of a unit, lesson,

activity or homework assignment that you
thought was particularly successful in
helping you learn? Specifically what did
you learn that you did not know or know
how to do before?

1 I really liked the pig unit. It was fun informative and the work didn't seem tedious. 3/3/2017 1:47 PM

2 The pig lab. It really helped visualize the anatomy of organisms and gave good concrete examples to solidify the ideas 2/28/2017 8:40 PM
in the real world.

3 Looking at cells and organisms through a microscope 2/28/2017 7:32 PM

4 the first eco-system unit was very clear and the in class discussions helped me learn more about the material. 2/28/2017 6:49 PM

5 I enjoyed the pig dissection a lot. It was really cool to actually see all the organs and such in an animal rather than on 2/28/2017 6:03 PM
a screen.

6 The mini zine was a creative, informative project that taught me about our carbon footprint and what we can do. 2/28/2017 1:08 PM

7 the unit about populations was helpful, specifically the humans part (not the moose) because it really stuck with me 2/28/2017 1:05 PM
and it was interesting. I learned more about the world because I learned how humans develop and how populations
change based on surroundings.

8 I loved the pig disection and learned so much from it 2/28/2017 12:59 PM

9 The project for the demographic transition was interesting because it was different and fun. 2/28/2017 12:55 PM

10 The pig because we got to see everything we were learning about in real life. 2/28/2017 12:52 PM

11 The labs are really helpful, although it would be beneficial to go over the results and analyze them more in class. Also, 2/28/2017 12:30 PM
having class discussions based on the reading notes from the night before were helpful.

12 The zine helped me research the effects of population on the earth. 2/28/2017 12:27 PM

13 The pig dissection because we were able to see real examples of digestive and respiratory parts of the body. 2/28/2017 12:19 PM

14 pig dissection! movie about population growth!! 2/28/2017 11:12 AM

15 The Isle Royal project helped me understand how populations worked. 2/28/2017 9:51 AM

16 I very much liked the unit on populations, while looking at them in a broad way. I learned a lot about demographic 2/28/2017 9:47 AM
transitions, which I found to be quite interesting.

17 I really enjoyed the pig dissection because we got to see the specifics 2/28/2017 9:41 AM

18 basically everything we've ever done. The way you explain things, with a wide variety of similies, are very helpful. you 2/28/2017 9:20 AM
dont speed through anything which is also very helpful

19 I thought the pig dissection was helpful because it was something we could see instead of looking at pictures of it 2/28/2017 9:13 AM

20 I think the enzyme lab was usefull. I learned how chemical factors affected biological factors. Because this was done 2/28/2017 8:50 AM
practically, I was able to understand it a lot more.

21 The pig dissection helped me learn about the various systems 2/28/2017 8:45 AM

22 I liked when we got to see different tissues under a microscope because it made me interested in the topic. I also like 2/28/2017 8:45 AM
dissecting the pig and worm because it let me see how to organs would actually look like, not just a picture of them.
