9 Frame Analysis/ Typography

The font for The Avengers stands out to the audience and catches their attention
because it is large and 3-D. This multi-dimensional font makes it as if the audience is
experiencing the movie firsthand. The color of the font is metallic, which gives it a
professional/clean look and the A in Avengers is larger than the rest of the letters to
emphasize the importance and symbolism of the letter. Personally, I would incorporate
the 3-D aspect of this font, but try and choose a different color for my action film
opening. A suitable color could be black, gray, red etc. to cause an eerie effect.

Since his introduction in a mere six-page story in 1939's Detective Comics #27, he has
evolved into one of the most complex and endearing figures not only in comic books, but
in the world of fiction. Comic book characters are essentially modern day mythology.
Their stories have been around for ages, through multiple eras, by countless writers and
artists, and have been retold time and again in film and television. Batman in particular is
perhaps the most loved. He and all of his supporting characters, even the name of his city,
have become major staples of popular culture. He has even surpassed his
Jason Bourne is lots and lots and lots of people. So many people he can't even keep them all
straight. "He's stretched to the point where he may not even know who he is any longer," as one
fellow comments (34.11). The doctor who first helps him out thinks that Bourne has lost his
memory because he got shot in the head and dumped into the sea, but since there were so many
people living in his head even pre-amnesia, we wonder if he just got fed up one day and told
everybody to get outleaving him confused, maybe, but less crowded.

Inception is a thriller and the font includes many aspects that I would use in my
thriller opening. The font combines aspects from both the Avengers and Splice movies,
for example the 3-D lettering is taken from the Avengers while the cryptic/abstract style is
taken from Splice. The only missing factor would be the color and hue of the font, which
can be changed to include the theme of my thriller opening. Nevertheless, the font is also
written in capitalized lettering and captures the attention of the audience, and the font
looks like some type of maze structure which represents an attempt to find your way
through conscious. The only con about this title is the lack of interesting color schemes,
yet the director does manage to keep it simple and clean.
Hitman is a 2007 French-American-British action-thriller film directed by Xavier
Gens and based on the video game series of the same name. The story revolves around
Agent 47, a professional hitman, who was engineered to be an assassin by the group
known as "The Organization". He becomes ensnared in a political conspiracy and finds
himself pursued by both Interpol and Russian intelligence. The film stars Timothy
Olyphant, Olga Kurylenko and Dougray Scott and was released on November 21, 2007 in
the United States, November 30, 2007 in the United Kingdom and December 26, 2007 in
France. Though critically not well-received, it was a financial success, grossing $99
million against a $24 million budget.

Thor combines the aspects of The Avengers (Both made by Marvel) and Ouija as it has
3-D capitalized lettering that is evenly spread apart; however, this title includes a
background image that gives more insight and depth to the audience. Most other movie
titles dont have a clear background image which makes Thor unique since it has an
image of rain and clouds. The background image gives contrast to the font and makes it
stand out for the audiences pleasure, but if it were me, I would have made the font a
different color than the background which Thor failed to do. The use of two opposite
colors is called complementary colors because one color compliments the other in an
image or font, such as orange/blue or red/black. In my thriller opening, I am hoping to
use a red/black hue for my title and have a background image like Thor.

Credits

Godzilla (2014)

The opening credits of Godzilla (2014)

were integrated in a unique and passive fashion.
They featured actual story lines from the original
Godzilla such as the nuclear bomb and radiation.
This creates a flashback for fans of the movie
Godzilla and keeps the audience interested and
aware. Furthermore, since the movie is based in
the Pacific Ocean, old clips from World War II
were also used to build up a story line and give
context to the audience. The use of old footage
affects the emotions of original Godzilla fans and
creates interest for new ones. Names within the
opening credits were also crossed out in white to
resemble U.S Army special mission situations.
Zombieland

Zombieland features its opening

credits in many creative ways. The first
portion of the credits include a voiceover
done by the main protagonist, Columbus.
Nonetheless, the second portion of credits
are animations of words that list the cast and
crew of the film while zombies are killing
humans in the background. Even though
zombies are usually depicted to be in horror
films, the audiences learn that the movie is a
comedy through the humorous voiceover and
hilarious cut scenes of humans being
overruled by zombies. Ultimately, this is a
unique strategy of taking a horrific topic and
creating it into a witty piece.
Halloween

While Deadpool exists within the same

satirical tradition that gave viewers Kick-Ass,
its far more unhinged and far less willing to un-
ironically embrace genre conventions. The plot
is stupendously simple: Ryan Reynolds stars as
the disfigured superpowered antihero Wade
Wilson, an amoral vigilante and erstwhile
teammate of the X-Men. When Wades girlfriend
is kidnapped after he escapes a cancer
treatment program gone horribly awry, the
Merc with a Mouth goes on the warpath. Cue
mayhem, explosions, yada yadaall with a
heaping helping of sarcastic side commentary.
