CRIMINAL CASE

Paula Pascuals father, Piolo Pascual, is suffering from bitterkala, a rare

chronic heart ailment. They discovered the illness only in 20005 and since
then, only a life support system has been keeping Piolo alive. Paula is the
eldest in the family. Her illegimate brother, Jake, has a family of his own.
Thus, being single, Paula is the one providing for everything that her father
needs.

Paula loves her father very much but she is getting tired of her
responsibilities towards him. Despite her high salary, Paula often finds herself
indebted to many individuals because her income is sometimes not enough
for the support of her father. Moreover, she has sacrificed her social life in
order to take care of her father. Though she knows it is wrong, she would
sometimes pray to God to just take the life of his father.

Paula noticed that many of her pink bikinis were stolen. Though she would
hang dry her other bikinis, only her pink bikinis were being stolen. Paula
thought that there could be a serial thief of pink bikinis.

Since Paula would not want to take the life of her father through her own
hands, she devised of another way to take the life of her father without her
active participation. She lengthened one of the wires attached to her fathers
life support system and made it pass through the clip where she hanged her
pink bikini. She attached the wires to the clip in such a way as to cause short
circuit in case the bars of the clip touch each other.

Night and day Paula waited for the thief to steal her pink bikini but nobody
came. She waited for so long and got tired of everyday checking the clip
where she hanged her pink bikini.

One night, when Paula was about to sleep, the lights turned out. She thought
there was brownout but when she looked outside, there was electricity in the
neighbourhood. She immediately ran to the balcony where she hanged her
pink bikini. She noticed that her pink bikini was no longer there. The thief
came, she thought. Instead of feeling relieved, her conscience started to
bother her. She ran immediately to the room where her father was staying.
She saw Pedro, her cousin, carrying their father. The ambulance arrived and
Piolo was brought to the hospital. According to the doctor, were it not for the
timely medical attention, Piolo could have died. Miraculously, Piolo regained
his consciousness. Though he was still sick of bitterkala, he was at least fully
conscious.

Jake, Paulas illegitimate brother who happened to be her nemesis, visited

Piolo. Jake has been working with the FBI and is one of the best agents in the
US. Jake noticed an unusual wire attached to his fathers life support system.
He conducted an investigation and found out about the scheme resorted to
by Paula. Jake wants Paula prosecuted so that Paula would forfeit her
inheritance.
