Design, Supply and installation of data center

Housing Requirements
The housing requirement principally pertaining to the necessary rooms to host the datacenter and
the bus operation control center toSheger Mass Transport Service enterprise ITS. The house for
the datacenter shall be designed with the aim of hosting all the necessary, racks, servers,
workstations, routers, switches, UPs, power panel systems, power and telecommunication
equipment and cables.
The design should include raised floor to cover all the cabling system, to avoid
humidity and unnecessary dust, which affect the cables. The room should also
include all the necessary security and danger protection devices such as
humidity sensor, smoke detector, fire extinguisher, CCTVs, Smart card door
lock.

The bus operation control center shall be a well-crafted hall to handle all the bus
ITS. It should host all the necessary displays, computers, and other devices to
control all the bus operation onsite. The design shall also be made with the
aim of hosting operators, furniture, and all the necessary equipment. It should
host all the necessary infrastructures to be integrated and interoperable with
the backend datacenter.
The detailed requirement design shall be presented by supplier/contractor and
approved by the client.

Datacenter Equipment Requirement

Datacenter for sheger bus ITS system basically comprises two major subsystems.
Namely, the data subsystem and the power panel subsystem. The Data subsystem
shall be designed to support all Sheger Mass transport ITS equipment, including
different types of servers, routers, racks, core switches, storage devices etc... At the
data center, the servers and core switches shall be designed to form redundant
array of servers to ensure high availability and data security.
The power panel subsystem shall be designed with the essence of utilizing different
power sources including transformer, generator, and battery backup sources. These
primary sources are then converted to power system suitable to different bus ITS
equipment, using power panel systems. The requirement specifications should
comply with the specific details of power and telecommunication equipment
described in this document and the detailed specifications of datacenter system.
The datacenter should be reinforced by cooling and ventilation unit, fire

extinguisher unit, smoke detection unit, environment detection units, and

datacenter environment monitoring display, to ensure security, availability, and to
avoid possible danger.
At the minimum, the datacenter should host the storage space of 300TB, network
bandwidth of 300Mbps, four workstation servers to support displays_ at the bus
operation control center, two Cisco routers, two core Cisco switches, two Firewalls,
two core servers (having Intel Xeon Processor with recent technology,)- which
helps to create mirror array of backup systems, ensure data security, and
availability.
The datacenter should also have a minimum of five racks (Server Cabinet), with its
own UPS, Ventilation, Computer keyboard, and monitor mounted on a sliding tray,
and other accessories.

The detailed requirement specifications of all the datacenter equipments shall be

provided latter by the contractor/supplier, but it shall not be less than the
minimum requirement described in this TOR. These equipments shall be approved,
by the client/clients nominated representative, before any datacenter equipment is
provided.

Power system
1. Except where detailed specification is given, all the bus ITS equipment shall
be powered from either,
A single phase (220-240)V AC 50Hz supply or
A three phase 380Vac 50Hz supply.
2. The bus ITS shall include a power distribution subsystem for each power
supply to all components within the related bus ITS equipment. The circuit
breakers shall be properly sized according to the expected loads of the bus
ITS equipment and to meet electrical code requirements.

3. All electrical equipment and cabling shall be provided in accordance with

wiring standard BS 7671 or equivalent.
4. The power distribution panel shall be directly fed by the main circuit breaker
at the electrical point of service. The power distribution assembly shall
include an interface and connection to the UPS (where provided). The power
assembly shall be connected to the earthling system.
5. A Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor (TVSS) shall be provided for each
external cable connection which is terminated at any item of exposed external
equipment. The TVSS shall be rated in accordance with: IEEE C62.41 CLASS
A or, BS EN 62305 or equivalent.

6. The TVSS shall be capable of handling minimum 30KA fault current.

Provision shall be made for protection of human and TVSS for each signal
conductor.

7. ITS equipment shall automatically regain full operational functionality when

related electrical power supply is restored, without the need for manual
intervention.

4.1.4.Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Subsystems

1. UPS shall be provided for each ground mounted location where bus ITS
equipment is proposed.
2. The worst-case power-load data shall be used to design the electrical
conductor sizes.
3. UPS with a minimum of four (4) hour backup shall be provided for all bus ITS
equipment and telecommunications device locations.
4. An Automatic Power Transfer Switch (APTS) shall be provided inside the bus
ITS enclosure which transfers power from one of the external sources to the
electrical distribution system. The APTS shall monitor the status of the
primary power source and transfer the power connection to the secondary
power source when primary power source fails or suffers degradation. The
APTS shall be provided with means to operate in manual mode.

5. The APTS must be able to transfer the connection with the internal power
system, from the primary power source, to the secondary power source,
within 1 mains power cycle (less than 20ms).
6. Additional equipment necessary to eliminate the delay in the transfer of
power sources which may cause the bus ITS equipment to reboot shall be
provided.
7. Each external power supply line shall be terminated at the APTS.

4.1.5.Telecommunications Equipment
