Amplitude Shift Keying

Name:
Garage Door Opener

Description:

The first garage door opener remote controls were simple and consisted of a
simple transmitter (the remote) and receiver which controlled the opener mechanism.
The transmitter would transmit on a designated frequency; the receiver would listen for
the radio signal, then open or close the garage, depending on the door position.

Frequency Shift Keying

Name:
Radio Transmission
Description
Radio waves transmit music, conversations, pictures and data invisibly through
the air, often over millions of miles -- it happens every day in thousands of different
ways! Even though radio waves are invisible and completely undetectable to humans,
they have totally changed society. Whether we are talking about a cell phone, a baby
monitor, a cordless phone or any one of the thousands of other wireless technologies,
all of them use radio waves to communicate.

Binary Frequency Shift Keying

Name:
A 6.5-GHz Energy-Efficient BFSK Modulator for Wireless Sensor Applications
(2004)
Description:

A 6.5-GHz FSK modulator suitable for low power wireless sensor network is
presented. The energy efficient modulator employs closed-loop direct VCO modulation
to achieve high data rate, multistage variable loop bandwidth technique for fast startup
time and 6-1 for reduced power consumption in the synthesizer with fine resolution in
frequency channel selection. The modulator, implemented using 0.25- m CMOS,
achieves 20- s startup time with an effective data rate of 2.5 Mb/s while consuming 22
mW.
Binary Frequency Shift Keying
Name:

CDMA, WiMAX (16d, 16e), WLAN 11a, 11b, 11g, 11n, Satellite, DVB, Cable modem etc.

Description

It is considered to be more robust among all the modulation types due to difference of
180 degree between two constellation points. Hence it can withstand severe amount of channel
conditions or channel fading. It is used in OFDM and OFDMA to modulate the pilot subcarriers
used for channel estimation and equalization.

Quadrature Frequency Shift Keying

Name:
Higher-speed wireless LAN standard, IEEE 802.11g[1][3] data rates: 12 and 18
Description:
A wireless local area network (WLAN) is a wirelesscomputer network that links two or
more devices using awireless distribution method (often spread-spectrum or OFDM radio) within
a limited area such as a home, school, computer laboratory, or office building.
