Oceans of chaos swirl round my life

Crashing and splashing and flowing about

Tides of change and waves of grief
Eroding the bedrock that make up my being.
But every day you swim to my shore,
Sunning your beauty as you sit on my face
Dipping your toes in the waters of life
Watching the chaos that roars all around,
Finding contentment on the breaker by the sea
Listening peacefully to the tumultuous sound
Ignoring the splashing and eddies that form
Knowing my bedrock will always be there,
Strong, facing the waves, as they tumble along
I happily lift you, safely above
Keeping you grounded, with my warm craggy love
Day after day, you return to my calm
In the ocean of movement and change.
The change that affects me, the smile on your face
Your warmth resting atop me, enjoying to sun
Together we sit, watching the sea,
experiencing the wonder, just you and me
