Masters Thesis
Title Analyzing Sink Mobility in Dense WSNs using Need-based Clustering
Supervisor Dr. Mustafa Shakir
Co-Supervisor Dr. Nadeem Javaid

Abstract Sink mobility in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is of great interest nowadays. It provides
an efficient way of data gathering, that results in minimum energy consumption. This thesis
explored the idea of adaptive sink mobility to minimize the total energy usage. Furthermore,
clustering is done to reduce the time for collecting data or the consumed energy of the nodes,
which are far from the sink.

BS Final Year Project

Title Routing in Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks
Supervisor Dr. Nadeem Javaid
Abstract The aim of the study was to analyse and compare several existing routing protocols (DBR,
EEDBR, FBR, H2-DAB) for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSN). These are
significantly different from terrestrial sensor networks due to peculiar characteristics such as
low bandwidth, high latency, limited energy, node float mobility and high error probability.
These features bring many challenges to the network protocol design of UWSNs. Analysis
was based on the simulation results in terms of throughput, latency and energy consumption.
