1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 PURPOSE OF ACQUISITION STRATEGY
The overall objective of an Acquisition Strategy is to document and inform project
stakeholders about how the acquisitions will be planned, executed, and managed
throughout the life of the project. This Acquisition Strategy should outline the
specific actions necessary to execute the approved acquisition strategy. The
Acquisition Strategy documents the approach to be taken for items such as the
actual acquisition, contracting, and fiscal, legal, personnel, considerations, etc.
The Acquisition Strategy should also address any policy, process, regulatory, etc.
necessary to comply with FAR, and any other requirements related to the specific
acquisition.
The intended audience of the <Project Name> Acquisition Strategy is the project
manager, project team, project sponsor, procurement officer/office, and any senior
leaders whose support is needed to carry out acquisition plans.
