Students will understand the story Jonah and the
fish (whale). They will learn that we have to
obey God and there is repentance in God.

1. What is the point of this story? 1. Students will be able know obey God
2. What should we do according to the otherwise we will get the problems like
story? Jonah.
3. Is it good to hide something bad? 2. Students will know instead of running
from God or hiding our sin we have to go
to God and ask for forgiveness.
3. Students will understand and know that
we can hide something from our parents
and friends but not from God.
Time Instructional Procedures and Strategies
3 min Beginning the Lesson:
1. Start with the prayer
2. Ask how big whale is? Is that smaller than people?
Developing the Lesson

10 min 1. Begin the story telling the title of the story Jonah and the Fish (whale)
2. Tell students the story is about how a fish
3. In the middle of the story ask students how many breads and fish the boy has. Ask
what will happened after Jesus prayed for the bread and fish.
4. Continue the story and show the picture at same time using laptop. In the middle
of the story pause and ask students that what Jonah did inside the belly of fish.
Ask them what will happen after that incident.
5. Ask students have you ever done something wrong and then tried to cover it or
hide it. You may able to hide things from your parents and friends but you cant
hide them from God.
6. Encourage students saying that when you scared about something instead of
running away and hiding. Go to God because He wants us to come to him and ask
him for strength to face up to your fears.
7. Read 1 John 1:9 and remind them that when we do something wrong ask God for
forgiven.
Closing the Lesson

1. Ask two students to share what they learn from the story.
2. Closing prayer
Students will repeat the prayer after me.
Father, Thank you for sending you son, Jesus, to die for our sins so that when we
do something wrong we can come to you, and be forgiven. We thank you because
we do not ever have to hide from you and be alone and lost in our sins. Amen
Formative Assessment Differentiation
At the end of the devotion ask some students to Examining the ability of students, making them
share what they have learned from the story. active in class by asking different kind of
questions, and giving simple task so that they
could understand easily.
