Purpose and Objective:


To ensure that backup and recovery of computer systems and data is managed in accordance with
industry best practice.

To define standards for backup and recovery of systems and data.

Responsibility Activity
1. IT Services & The necessary level of backup information shall be defined for
Departments each system, detailing what needs to be backed up (e.g. entire
operating IT systems system, data partitions which ones, etc.)

3. IT Services & The schedule of backups (e.g. full, differential or incremental)
Departments and frequency (e.g. daily or weekly) shall reflect the business

information involved, and the criticality of the information to the
continued operation of the organisation.
