a. What are some different categories of stereotypes? Sex and race

b. What is one of the stereotypes youve heard of that is listed in the 1992 gender study? Males
were typically characterized as adventurous, powerful, domineering and independent.
c. Why is mass media considered significant to stereotyping? Since mass media reaches out to
such large audiences, viewers make judgements based on the facts and material given to them
