CONDITION
The MIL may falsely illuminate on some 2004 Verona (RP625) vehicles.
CAUSE
ECM software logic incorrectly detects certain DTCs. These DTCs are indicated below.
! Slow response O2 sensor DTCs P0133 and/or P0153 or P0139 and/or P0159.
! Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected DTCs P0442, P0445 and /or P0456.
CORRECTION
Using the appropriate Service Manual, verify that the DTC has not been set due to an actual fault and
reprogram the ECM according to the procedures described in Service Bulletin AS09-05 with Pass-
Thru Reprogramming Software version 1.6.0.1 or higher and Database version 2.005.1215 or higher.
After reflashing, the ECM programming will be updated to that of the 2005 model year Verona with the
following enhanced DTCs. Revisions to the 2004 Verona Service Manual on SuzukiVision will be posted
shortly. In the interim refer to the 2005 Verona Service Manual when diagnosing malfunctions relating to
the following DTCs.

The new software also supports Tech 2 scan tool actuator functions for EGR valve, canister purge sole-
noid valve and canister vent solenoid valve.
After the new software is downloaded, ensure that a Pass-Thru Reprogramming Label (99414-11130)
is installed according to the procedures described in Service Bulletin AS09-05.
In addition to ECMs on vehicles that have been reprogrammed according to a customer complaint of
MIL illumination, reprogram the ECM on all 2004 Verona vehicles currently in your inventory or those
brought into your dealership for other service.
