The United Way supports many pro-
grams in the Calgary area.
Susan Wright, spokesperson for the

Way, $8,500 through Strathmore McDon-
alds United Way and $1,800 from the
Town of Strathmore fundraiser.
Wright presented the figures to Strath-
more town council at the March 1 council
meeting. She said figures were reviewed
at the January 2017 board meeting. At
that time, the board agreed to recom-
mend funding for the following charitable
initiatives: Collective Cooking; Rural Cal-
gary East Post-Partum; Strathmore Library;
Growing Families; Hope Bridges; Accred-
