Assignment 2: Assessment Tools

Small, written formative assessment

Grade 10 Academic Science - Chemistry

1. Where did I go wrong in finding the products and balancing these

equations? Show the correct answer. Assess yourself then have a peer go
over your work and assess it.

a) Fe + Cl2 = ClFe2

b) K2CO3 + 2BaCl2 ---> 2CO3Cl + 2KBa

c) MgI2 + 2Mn(SO3)2 --> 2I(SO3)2+ MnMn4

d) 2CaCl2 + AgNO3 = Ca(NO3)2 + 2AgCa

e) HF + NaOH = H2O+NaF

Criteria Me Peer Teacher

3. Rubric

Students will create a handbook/guide on how pH effects the environment

and people in everyday lives. Students will research ways humans effect pH
levels in the environment, negative impacts it has and what students can do
to help this issue. Students will also research ways pH effects us in everyday
live.
