Prologue

The date is June 11th and our story starts with Bryan Hayes, a 17 year old teenager,
who starts talking about the situation the worlds in. Its bad. Then he talks about the day his life
changed forever, starting with his friend, Roger White, barging into his house. He convinces
Bryan to come watch a speech with him, using him to get information that would help him.
There, they hear Martin Washington, the speaker, monologue about The
Lightkeeper(one of the emperors of the world) death, an event that shocked the entire world.
Reported as a suicide, Martin believes that The Timekeeper(the remaining emperor) is
responsible for his death(after all theyve failed do release anything related do the event).
Thats when Rick Harrison comes in and tells a story about one of its secret agents;
Clara Norton. This criticism of her alone unexpectedly fires up Roger, which leads to an
argument between the two. Washington tells both of them to leave, before two of the protesters
pull out assault rifles and aim at Bryan and the rest of the people there. The crowd is, however,
saved by an entering cloaked figure, who taunts the attempted gunmen, and decides to detain
the attendees of the event(except Bryan and Roger).
This figure is revealed to be The Timekeeper itself. Bryan mentions that The
Timekeeper has taken an interest in him for the past three years, saving him from dangers in
the real world, and dangers within his head. Worried, he pulls out a bottle of pills and downs a
few.
Act One, Scene One
One week later, we see a celebration of Cassius Zefanias promotion to Major in the
Peacekeeping Forces. Next to him is Clara, seemingly a teenager. Cassius thanks her for being
such a good friend, and they toast to that.
It is interrupted when Vice Minister Abraham Zefania walks into the room to pull Clara
out. In the next room. Prime Minister Alex Johnson and Abraham explain to Clara that she and
three others will be apart of a group committed to fighting domestic terrorism occurring within
the capitol, named Project Altius. Clara objects at first, but is told to think about it by Carley,
reminding her of the threat terrorists pose.
She leaves, and finds Cassius gone. Even though she thinks secretary positions are not
boring, Clara figures she has no choice but to go along with Project Altius.
Act One, Scene Two
The next day, Bryan watches the news; The News Reporter reports that the last
attendee of the Washington Incident has been released; all were cleared of any charges.
Bryan hears a knock on the door, and answers. Norma Zefania tells him shes a
government agent, and recruits Bryan into Project Altius. This is done without much of any
resistance.
They arrive at the base of operations, and were introduced to two other characters; Ned
Backman, a 17 year old who can read others thoughts, and Heather Lombardi, 19 years old.
Norma leaves, and the four talk about stuff.
Cutting to Norma, she enters a bar. Colonel Jack Watson and Cassius are there. Theyre
celebrating Jack's transferal to Cassius unit by taking up their general, Omar Hyperias, bar.
However Jack has to leave in order to stop two of his soldiers from having sex. Cassius objects
to this. Him and Norma are also irritated by one of the privates, Lance York.
Cassius tries to talk about sports, but Norma tries to convinces him to instead talk about
his accomplishments in the force. Theres not much to talk about there. The scene ends with
Omar popping in and telling Cassius to get all of his soldiers out of his bar.
Cutting to Bryan, now back at his house, he monologues about Heather. Talking to her
has made him unusually happy (as was nice to him and not many people are). He supposes
Ned is nice, and him and Clara are friends. Nothingness sleeps in his bed.
Bryan suddenly stops mid sentence, and Nothingness gets out of bed (Bryan exits).
Talking to the audience, he realized the other one has been in control for a while, and hes a
asleep for a while Might as well go see whats up. Nothingness says. His first stop is a bar,
where he runs into a girl who, not knowing Bryans DID, calls him such. Nothingness tries to
correct her, but ends up going along with it. They both start kissing, until he throws her off and
runs away.
Emily appears, running onstage. She calls for Nothingness, before giving up. She
laments that, even though she can appear to both the others, neither one of them listen to her.
Act One, Scene Three
That following morning, Roger finds Bryan outside of his house, with no recollection of
where he is. The latter drives him to the PA headquarters. Waiting outside, Clara takes Bryan in,
and Norma enters. After some difficulty, she tricks him into remembering the nights events.
She takes an unwilling Ned into the briefing room in order to interrogate two captured
individuals. He is successful in doing this, the two believing they tricked him. During this, Norma
phones Abraham and asks to get a stronger dosage of pills for Bryan.
With Clara back, Norma tells her she and Heather will be going to into the Forest
Reserve, within a building occupied by an organization that calls itself The ATC which sprung
up after Martins protest. They will be dealt with a peaceful manner. Clara and Heather have two
agents accompany them.
We cut to five people (one of them Rick), members of the ATC, talking. Thats when
Clara enters. Both parties stare at each other. One of the agents enters, guns ablazing, and a
gunfight ensues. Clara flees, both agents die. She re-enters, this time with one of their assault
rifles.
She shuts off the power switch. The stage goes dark. We then hear gunshots, and lots of
screaming. When the lights come back on. Only Rick is still alive; him crawling away from Clara,
begging for mercy. Heather tries to intervene, only for Clara to aim at her. Before she can do
anything, The TImekeeper intervenes. It talks to Clara, which seems to snap her out of whatever
trance she was in. It takes them both in for questioning.
Act One Scene Four
Afterwards, we see a meeting of the United States Government. Prime Minister Alex
Johnson propose that The Timekeeper be petitioned to step down. Abraham appears very
annoyed by this, while Timekeeper listens on. Afterwards, The Timekeeper confronts the both of
them about what Clara testified to them.
Alex explains that a rogue agent diffused the situation with gunfire, and her, Norma, or
Clara had no control over that. However, they explicitly warned Norma not to bring Clara onto
the expedition, as she has not fully recovered from her PTSD. She will be punished for this.
Timekeeper seems to be satisfied by this, requesting that Clara's position be switched from
frontliner to assistant. Alex agrees to this while Abraham stands there, dumbfounded by
TImekeepers appearance.
We follow The TImekeeper back to their palace room. There, they have a flashback
about The Lightkeeper(certainly different from how everyone remembers him). Both talk about
stuff before a civilian enters the room and shoots The Lightkeeper. The bullets do nothing.
Pulling his facade, The Lightkeeper calmly convinces him to drop his weapon, and escorts him
out of the room. I miss those times, The TImekeeper states, admitting they can't do this on
their own now. They need people like Alex and Abraham to keep order in line, even if theyre not
the nicest people.
Thats when Omar enters the room, telling them of reports of a revolt occurring in
Russia. Timekeeper sighs, and crushes it, urging the angry folk that revolution will lead them
nowhere but the grave(they are mostly intimidated by Timekeepers flexing of their power).
Returning, Omar tells him of more and more reports, some graciously handed over by a
mysterious journalist. Those should be taken with a grain of salt. Timekeeper is compelled not
too, implying theyve already spoken to this character. Omar uses this to compel TImekeeper to
release the autopsy report of Lightkeeper, and after a some bit of bank and forth, Timekeeper
agrees.
Act One, Scene Five
A news reporter interviews Martin Washington being asked a few questions. One of
them is about the ATC. He denies any involvement with the organization and insists they sprung
up from his ideas. This mysterious journalist is watching the interview on Bryans TV and
makes note of this Washington fellow. Thats when Bryan walks into his house.
Freaked out, Bryan tries to kick Journalist out of his house, but its a supernatural
creature and wants to tell him something. Basically, Journalist tells him to stop taking those pills;
their hurting him. Bryan tells him to leave once more. Very well. I'll be waiting for you to come
around. The Journalist comments, before leaving.
Afterwards, Bryan pulls up to Roger's house, confronting him about his treatment of him.
Roger brushes him off, stating that hes overreacting, that he always does this, and hes sick of
it. Both insult each other before Bryan leaves. He stops center stage, hugely regretting his
actions. He blames it on the pills, and wonders if The Journalist is right. He crosses Omar &
Cassius, the former telling the latter that he
Norma calls Bryan do get him do interrogate Rick. Cassius enters out of nowhere,
scaring Norma. Apparently Abraham wanted Norma to be moved to a secretary position after
the incident. Bryan appears and Cassius orders him around. The former is confused cause
they tell him nothing.
He tricks Rick into telling him that the remaining ATC members are located in the towns
next to the capitol. Norma relays this info back to Abraham. Afterwards, Bryan notices Clara,
and drops her off at her home. He tells her about Roger, and she decries him, telling Bryan he
shouldn't feel so bad about him. Afterwards, he talks about Heather for a bit, how he wants to
move away with her on an obscure retreat where no one will find them, before falling asleep in
his car.
In his dream, he sees Ned forcing himself upon an unwilling Heather. He gets angry and
storms towards them, when Emily reveals herself. She tells him to relax, hes only known her for
two days, like all the other women youve chased after. She states. Bryan scoffs her off.
Act One, Scene Six
Three days have past, and Ned recounts them; since Project Altius was moved over as a
Peacekeepers operation, things have been going a little better for him and the rest of the
members, except Norma, who was fired. She still works in the base and spends most of her
time with Cassius and Jack.
Ned talks about an operation Cassius, Heather and co did; busting a drug operation in
the Forest Reserve. The terrorists must be sleeping on the job. He remarks. Ned finishes his
narration by stating that he and Bryan interrogated the druggies and got no useful information,
before informing the audience that hes been isolated from the others, as they hate him.
We cut to Bryan, Heather, Jack, and Clara. The topic is about Jack's son. After a while,
gunshots start ringing out in the background. Clara waits in anticipation, as Heather takes
charge, and she and Ned barricade the doors. Then the power goes out, before the barricades
break, revealing Norma, Lance, Ned, and Cassius, holding a severely wounded Cassius
The backup generator kicks in. Jack escorts Ned, Bryan, and Clara the opposite way,
claiming that none of them would want to see the bodies. Lance, who was silent through this
section, bursts into tears as Heather tries to heal Cassius wounds. Clara and Ned ask Bryan
the specifics, and he answers that the ATC was responsible for this attack. Bryan worries for his
and especially Heather's lives. Ned and Clara say nothing.
Act One, Scene Seven
A news reporter interviews Rick Harrison, who condemns the attack on Project Altius
Headquarters. This attack is not what we stand for. He states. Heather watches this on TV.
She pulls out her phone and invites Roger to her birthday party as they had become good
friends. Hes unhappy Bryans coming, stating some pretty damning reasons why. Bryans calls
her soon afterward
She accepts the offer, mostly to find out if what Roger has told about him is true. She
admits to herself that she likes them as friends, but hopes this diner thing isn't some kind of
date. She herself is planning on asking this Grant Palmer boy out on a date.
Norma has a short conversation with Cassius, whos still scarred over what happened at
HQ. After she leaves, he bitterly requests a transferral outside of Project Altius to Omar, citing
that the project resulted in the pointless deaths of 10 of his good men. Omar heeds his request
to be transferred. Abraham tries to argue, but Omar shuts him down. He starts playing a tape of
Alex's speech in Scene Four, growing evermore angry. That is until Alex herself enters the
room.
Not noticing the tape, she bitterly discusses the prospects for Project Altus; its bad. The
TImekeepers still on their asses, and no other gifted individual wants to join, and violence and
domestic terrorism is ramping up at an alarming pace.
Abraham suggests that most of its coming from very specific people's rhetoric. By
secretly using Clara, they can be neutralized and prevented from hurting anymore people. Alex
decides to go along with the idea. Ned watches all of this, and Abraham notices him. Ned flees.
The Timekeeper visits Bryan for a bit, and we find out that his parents are in prison.
Bryan begs Timekeeper and Omar to force Heather to love him back, as shes the only way hell
ever be happy. Both refuse.
After leaving (and after Omar leaves for errands), Bryan wonders whats wrong with
him, and hopes Heather would never find out about this incident. He finally decides that these
new pills are making him crazy, and hell stop taking them. After going to sleep, he has a
nightmare; Roger and Clara corner Heather, and Bryan is powerless to stop them. Mom, dad!
Heather says, before Clara chokes her. Roger laughs. Bryan wakes up, now knowing what his
parents did to him.
Act One, Scene Eight
Early in the morning, The Journalist interviews Martin, whos saddened by what the
organization that employed his teachings has become. Thats when Clara barges in and shoots
him in the face. She leaves, distraught, The Journalist follows her. It cuts to Norma, now late at
night, making a call do Alex and Abraham asking what the hell theyre making Clara do and why
wasn't she informed about this. Abraham responds that desperate times have come for
desperate measures. and unless she can come up with a better idea, they have to do this.
Two separate characters overlap with this convo; Bryan assures himself that the pills
only hindered him; he can sleep better, and his mind is clear. Clara, with two new bodies next to
her, tries to assure herself that her actions are just, but cant bring herself to, suffering a mental
breakdown, and leaving.
The Journalist enters and wipes the gun with her victim's fingerprints, her suffering will
come to an end soon, but not in the form of jail. He states. The Timekeeper catches him in the
act, and tries to stop him with the time powers. It doesn't work. Journalist escapes, and
Timekeeper is left flabbergasted.
Later that night, Nothingness walks away from a riot. That is, until he encounters Ned.
The latter realizes immediately its not Bryan, but still, Nothingness senses his strong
negativity and ushers him away from the riot. Ned reluctantly agrees to come along, and they
enter a nightclub.
Ned sits in a corner looking apathetic and bored as Nothingness tries his very best to get
him to socialize. He gives Ned the suggestion to take anti-depressants, before asking to
become his friend. Ned doesn't respond. The Journalist, disguised, comes in and convinces
Nothingness to come with him. Ned watches them leave, bored.
Act One, Scene Nine
Bryan wakes up at an abandoned diner, not remembering anything. Heather shows up,
realizing what happened, and tricks him into remembering. They see the news about
Washington and two politicians, both murdered by an unknown vigilante.
Heather tries to talk about Roger, but Bryan constantly changes the subject about his
knowledge of his parents abuse. She comforts him about this, and he decides he should ask her
out now. Thats when he freezes up and stops talking.
Emily enters, wearing Bryans clothing, and continues the conversation, acting like
nothing strange happened. Then she asks Heather if shed like to take a suggestion; killing her.
Heather refuses, and Emily grabs her hand, and tries to force her to stab her and Bryans body
in the heart. Shes unsuccessful, and Heather overpowers her. Using zip ties Bryan has in his
pocket, Heather restrains her and leads her offstage.
We transition to Heather's house (which is next to the forest reserve) While there, Clara
and Ned show up, both claim theyre here for the party. Heather tells them to stay put anyway.
Emily lets up the jig and explains that shes not Bryan, and talks about herself.
Her name is actually Emily Morgan, and the zip ties were his (She doesn't know if they
were Bryans or Nothingnesses), not hers.
Bryan let her come out when he couldn't deal with embarrassing or traumatic situations.
He especially loved to pull me out when his parents violated us. (Ned leaves after this)
All she wants to do is die, as her life sucks and Emily believes shes helped out Bryan all
she could.
Heather questions if this would kill all three personalities or not. After confirming that no it
wouldn't, Heather leaves to get earplugs and a gun for Clara, deciding shell do it. Bryan comes
on ,and forces Emily offstage. Hes about to say something when Roger barges into Heather's
house,. Clara, armed with the gun, freaks out and shoots Roger in the face.
A few moments of silence, and Bryan and Clara get into a nasty argument ending with
Heather admitting that she invited him over, forgetting to tell him about the diner incident. After
she takes Bryans side, Clara decries both of them as horrible people, before leaving through the
backdoor. Ned wants nothing to do with this shit and leaves. He thinks Clara has a point.
Heather is content on hiding the body, Bryan disgusted by this. He tells her about his
love, and Heather promises that shell lover him back, if he helps hide the body. Bryan refuses,
and the police arrive. In his delirious state he leaves and runs into The Forest Reserve.
Act One Scene Ten:
A few days later, Abraham monologues about the current whereabouts of all Project
Altius Members; all but Clara are useless to him now. Norma calls Abraham (this time we see
both sides of the phone), telling him she will be using resources to figure out Bryans location.
He tries to force her to divert these resources to securing Ned and Clara. She refuses, and calls
him out on his actions. She hangs up. Saddened, Abraham reiterates his plan; get a soldier to
kill Alex, and not only will Timekeepers legacy be preserved, hell become Prime Minister. He
decides that Clara and a soldier would be too risky, so he must regrettably rope Norma along in
the plan. He orders the immediate arrests of Norma, Clara, and Ned.
Act One Climax
At 8:50AM, Cassius, Lance, and Jack are at Jacks house, Lance describing the effects
of his PTSD from the event. Clara suddenly barges in, begging them to help her. Jack tries to
have her arrested, but Cassius lets her speak, and the two put two and two together. They rush
to call Omar, before gunshots ring close by. Both Clara and Lance panic and leave the building.
Outside, the soldiers find Clara and shoot her.
. Timekeeper enters. Calming her down. Clara tells Timekeeper all the things Abraham
and Alex have been doing (that she knows). Timekeeper is flabbergasted, and Clara chews
them out, believing Timekeeper could've stopped this incident from happening. They beg her to
know how they could possibly mend things. Clara requests to die. Timekeeper refuses, and
Clara stabs herself to death. You were all I had left. Timekeeper states, before walking off with
her body.
Also at 8:45AM, Alex meets Abraham and Norma in the meeting room. The two
ministers briefly discuss the state of America; its still bad, and the deaths of Washington and
those two have made the riots more widespread. Oops. Norma suddenly drugs her with a
needle. Abraham congratulates her for doing her part, before handing her a gun. He leaves.
Norma puts the gun down and waits for Johnson to wake up.
At 9:30AM, Omar reopens the door, accompanied with Cassius and Abraham in cuffs.
Cassius spilled the beans on Abraham's operation. Omar checks Johnson, only to find her
dead; the stuff Norma injected her with was a strong neurotoxin. The gun is loaded with blanks.
Norma and Cassius are both shocked by this revelation. Omar orders all involved with Project
Altius to be secured at once.
Next, several events overlap. Bryan wanders the woods, Jack wards off the antagonistic
soldiers to detain Ned, while Lance runs into The TImekeeper asking for help. This all happens
at once, and all characters start to speak over one another (all are in different locations) before
Omar walking on shuts everyone up. The other characters forms a V position around Omar and
stare at him.
Omar is searching looking for Bryan, noting how the forest reserve is a treacherous
placed filled to the brim with secrets. Then he catches up to Bryan, alone. His clothes are torn
up, and hes once again forgotten his surroundings. Omar convinces him to come with him,
mostly by pulling out some pills. Bryan tries to grab them, but Emily takes over, wearing a red
dress.
The Journalist drugs Omar, finally confronts Emily. He delivers a spiteful speech aimed
at guilt tripping her, before asking if she has any last words. Emily asks for some time to think,
The Journalist warning her that any word coming from her mouth means her death. In her
thoughts, she realizes she doesn't want to die. However, she has an epiphany; why was she
helping out a person that not only wants to die, but is a horrible person?
Thus, she willingly gives Bryan control of the body, and The Journalist shoots him in the
face. Now reincarnated with her own body, Emily disarms him, deciding to tie him with the zip
ties and leaves him for dead. Nothingness watches on the side. Emily has found her new
purpose in life; punishing the wicked. Starting with Carley. Emily bids goodbye to Bryans body.
Omar wakes up, and is horrified by Bryans death. He calls in reinforcements, as he derides
himself for failing to protect him.
End of Act One
Act Two Prologue
A homeless Rick Harrison begs a passing Ned for change, who gives him some money.
He arrives at his house, and his father Gordon asks him about today's interrogation. A frustrated
Ned explains that The Journalist has continued his charade of silence, both in his mind and in
words.
Ned writes about his day, and about how meaningless it was.. Thats when hes visited
by Emily, who blackmails him to find out where Abraham is being located. If he doesn't find out
then shell be forced to harm his father, who has a dark past. Out of fear, Ned agrees to her
demands.
Meanwhile, Cassius, Omar, and Jack are gloomily sitting in Omars bar. Cassius and
Jack both have suffering family that needs their help. The only good to come out of this Omar,
able to keep himself calm and collected, delivers a short monologue; his wife was a terrorist that
the government put to death. And The Timekeeper approved it. He urges Jack and Cassius to
reconcile with their family members as Lance comes onstage (separately from there). He
wonders if hell ever get better.
Ned, at the outside of the bar, listens in on their thoughts, and determines that the
Pendleton Maximum Security Prison is located in Washington. He leaves, more self-loathing
than ever. He runs into Heather, also self-loathing. She explains she was just released from a
detention center after it was determined she did not murder Roger. However, she was forced to
pay a huge fine, and her parents have disowned her. She wonders how her life couldve gone
down the drain like it did. Ned pities her and reluctantly takes her bank to his house.
It cuts to Norma. She talks to a therapist, noting how she let herself become a
scapegoat, how the peoplell blame her, but let the one that really got should be punished get
away scot free. As they talk, were shown snippets of Abraham's thoughts as Norma talks; he
explains how happy he is, this has been the best week of his life, and both end by saying that
they did nothing wrong.
Abraham screams offstage. Police and Timekeeper come on to find him with multiple
stab wounds.
Act Two, Scene One:
A council meeting is held. Headed by The Timekeeper, They officially launch an
investigation into who murdered Abraham, and decide to relocate Norma to somewhere safer.
Afterwards, Omar heads to his house, only to see Nothingness place a tape on his desk, before
running out. Startled, he reports this to The TImekeeper, before watching the tape.
Abraham notes the previous week's events; hes on trial for high treason against the
American government, and for terrorizing the civilian populace. If he can prove that he had no
involvement and was a pawn Alex used, then he can off the hook, and possible assume her
position.
Thats when Emily appears, telling him that she has a suggestion for him; slitting his
throat. Abraham stares at her, confused. She too is confused, before pulling out a knife, and the
tape ends. Omar reports this to Timekeeper, who announces on TV that Emily will be taken to
prison at once.
Jack, forced to go bank to Project Altius, has a convo with Gordon before Ned comes
bank. Lets try again with our friend. He exclaims, before Ned is escorted into the interrogation
room with him. Ned figures out The Journalist is; a resurrected Lightkeeper, and Emily was his
killer. Now he wants revenge. Ned also learns of Emily's next move; she plans to attack and kill
Abraham Zefania. He reports this to Jack.
Act Two Scene Two
Heather and Ned go to a restaurant to eat out while Nothingness watches them from
afar. Thats when theyre held at gunpoint by a stranger wearing a balaclava. Nothingness
intervenes and shoots the man in the balaclava. After Heather and Ned flee, Nothingness
monologues;
During this month, hes observed the world becoming the country become worse off
thanks do characters. Frankly, hes sick of them. Hes only helping Heather because shell be
useful for when the world is changed. And first, a spark needs to go off, and for now, Emily will
be useful in that regard. He revives the man in balaclava, and pays him dearly.
At his house, Ned confides to Heather that Emily blackmailed him to help kill Carley.
Heather gives him advice; refuse next time. Emily can't really force him to do it, and his father
would never take any suggestions from her now that its come out about how she kills her
victims. Heather asks to stay with him, which hes fine with.
That night, Emily returns. She demands he figure out the location of Norma's hideout.
Ned refuses, angering Emily. She explains that his father was convicted of robbing a bank not
too long ago, and had killed several of the innocent hostages. Ned denies this. Of course you
would. Emily refutes, before proclaiming that, because hes harmed before, hes apart of the
wicked that deserve to die. Ned tries to flee, only for Nothingness to grab him. She pulls out a
knife, and threatens to kill Heather, as she too is wicked.
Ned conforms to her demands, and he is forced to figure out the location from Cassius
(with Norma sitting next to him) while Jack is on the phone with Lance. Hes calling him to urge
him to get back into the Peacekeeping Forces.
Noma tries to to think happy thoughts, noting how proud she is of Cassius, Ned, and
Heather trying to make themselves better people.
Emily, of course, shows up. Scared, she tries to fight her off, but is overpowered and
stabbed a bunch. The Journalist intervenes, and proclaims his revenge. They fight, and Emily
triumphs, mortally wounding him. However, before he dies, The Journalist reveals who he is to
her. He pulls the alarm. This causes Emily to enter a state of shock, before she is forced to flee.
Norma dies from her wounds.
Act Two Scene Three:
Ned tells us in a narration that one week has passed, and The Timekeeper is now
heading America temporarily, until elections can be held. Riots are happening all over the
nation; the identity of The Journalist has been kept a secret. The economy has been slowly
falling since the start of the play, and now its down the gutter. Needless to say, everything's
going to shit, and the citizens are calling for The Timekeepers head.
Ned, Heather, and Grant all hang out at Grants house. All but Grant are devastated by
what happened to Abraham and The Journalist (Grant doesn't know who the Journalist truly is).
Grant fears for their lives, and assures both of them that hes trying to convince his parents to
move them all to a different country, like Canada. That way, they could be safe from Emily, who
has since killed more and more people.
Emily briefly comes on(with one of her newest victims), stating that although she
misjudged The Journalist, shell continue with her crusade against... against... she finds herself
unable to state the word wicked. Suddenly scared, she reassures herself that what shes doing
is right, but sounds very unsure of herself. Returning to the three teens, Ned believes that, no
matter what, they can't run away from Emily. Shell always be there when she wants. Heather
agrees, Grant assures them they have more time to reconsider.
Omar and The Timekeeper is just recovering from the Journalists identity. Omar, with
ulterior motives, suggests they both watched the tape. Timekeeper reluctantly agrees.
It starts with Timekeeper and Lightkeeper talking. Lightkeeper is obviously worn out from
his jesus-like status, and worries that he will be unable to continue for any longer. Timekeeper,
much more optimistic sounding than the current one, assures him that he can continue on. They
continue to talk until Omar comes in with Jack(in civilian clothes), who has Bryan with him.
This boy is dying from a incurable brain tumor. Every doctor weve been to is unable to
treat him.Jack states. He begs The Lightkeeper to cure him. Putting on his facade, Jack is
escorted out of the room by Omar, as Lightkeeper tries his magic on the poor boy. And like that,
it works. Bryan feels much better. Omar is about to leave when Bryan starts to act strange.
Emily replaces Bryan, now wearing what she wore in Act One. She offers to make a
suggestion to The Lightkeeper, and he accepts it. This suggestion is for him to kill himself,
which he does. TImekeeper freaks out and Omar brings Jack back in for an explanation. He
explains that sometimes he acts like that, and there are times when he tells people to harm
themselves, and they do. He had rescued Bryan from two druggies who sexually molested him.
Timekeeper keeps them both at the palace until they can figure out what just happened. The
tape ends.
TImekeeper is clearly stricken by this, and wishes they(this time meaning everyone and
him) didn't just wait around. Omar points it was them that did much of the waiting around. All
theyve done is hold the world back, and the citizens no longer trust The Timekeeper. He
suggests that The Timekeeper release everything pertaining to The Lightkeeper, past and
present. Maybe then the world will calm down. To have the world truly calm down, he needs to
capture Emily, and resign-
The two argue about this, until The Timekeeper gives in. They suggest that Omar
release them instead, it couldn't bare doing that to his friend, before exiting.
Nothingness watches the argument and then greets Rick Harrison with absolute glee,
who is reprising Martin Washington's monologue with more sinister undertones. He escorts him
offstage, intent to clean him up and make him more intelligible for the next step in his plans.
Act Two, Scene Four:
Another time skip, another week later. The News Reporter announces that citizens all
over the United States are taking up arms after the implications of the information former
General Hyperia released, now an outlaw, and the inspiring words of one Rick Harrison. We
hear some of these words from the man himself.
Thats when the reporter is forced to flee after a slew of gunshots heads their way. A
group of civilians, armed, storm the center of the stage, rowdy and excited.
They start to set up a little base of operations, some heading offstage. One talks
excitedly about how many of The Peacekeepers are already supporting their cause, because of
who leaked this information. So very soon, the government and The Timekeeper will be gone.
And they will make America a better place.
Suddenly, gunshots come from both stage wings. The revolutionists, armed to the teeth,
fight back. Yelps of pain are heard from both sides. One throws a grenade on Stage Left. After
the dust settles, they split up into groups and head to both wings; Stage Right group comes
back with a wounded Lance, begging for mercy.
The revolutionist leader then uses his radio stolen from Lance to get in contact with his
higher up. Cassius answers, not realizing who this particular soldier is. They make several
important, game changing demands, or else the traitor dies. Cassius refuse these demands,
having changed since all thats happened. He believes that these demands are too much, and
believing that the life of one soldier is not enough to meet these demands. Jack is beside
Cassius, horrified.
With that, they haul Lance back onstage. They tell him that no one is going to help him
and for betraying the cause, he must die a traitor's death. They tie a bag over his head, Lance
not accepting his fate, and shoot him in the back in the head. Hearing much more menacing
cavalry coming from Stage Left, the revolutionists pack their bags and exit.
Cassius enters Center Stage, lamenting what the countries become. Jack interrupts the
lament to beat the shit out of him. Jack and Cassius have a nasty nasty argument, Cassius
feeling immense remorse for what hes done. Jack storms off, their friendship broken. With
nothing else to lose, Cassius treks the streets.
He recounts all those dead and gone; his best friend, his father, his sister, and his friend.
Thats when he soon encounters trouble. A gang of looters try to rob him, but hes saved by
Gordon, Heather, and Ned. Recognizing him, they take him back to their house.
Nothingness reappears, happy as to things are going. Emily also appears, demanding to
know what hes done. Oh please, you were gonna kill that kid. Might as well put him out of
misery and keep my pawn safe. He quips.
Emily threatens to kill him for the violence hes caused. Nothingness points out she
would never do that; the world doesn't know what hes done, so he can get away with
transporting her around. Without him, shed be in a maximum security prison, awaiting
execution. Angered, Emily starts walking away, as Nothingness joins a crowd of revolutionists,
led by Rick Harrison, chasing Jack and other soldiers. Emily decides that, tomorrow by midnight,
Omar will die for his actions.
Act Two, Scene Five:
Emily arrives at the house, only to find Heather sleeping. She tries to harm her, and this
time is successful in bringing her to the ground. Believing her do be dead, Emily leaves. A
wounded Heather soon gets up and calls the police.
Ned and Gordon hear the commotion and prepare for what will come down. Emily does,
demanding his assistance in finding Omar. Gordon stands between them. Ned once more
refuses. A furious Emily attacks Gordon, until Heather comes down and with Ned they restrain
her.
The Timekeeper appears and arrests her. Cassius hurries downstairs and treats
Gordon's wounds. With the sound of fighting urges them to come with him to the retreat Omar
is located at. All but Timekeeper accept the offer. It does offer to transport them there, and The
Timekeeper does so. As the stage blacks out, its implied the house is broken into by the
revolutionists.
Act Two, Scene Six:
Before giving Emily up, Timekeeper tells Emily that you did not kill The Lightkeeper.
before The TImekeeper leaves. With Emily finally in prison Timekeeper decides that now it's
time to retire. They prepare a speech thatll be read on national television. As theyre writing it,
the ghost of The Journalist/Lightkeeper makes his presence known.
They stare at each other, before Timekeeper asks why they used Emily as a way to kill
themselves. Lightkeeper doesn't understand. Timekeeper drops a plot twist and reveals that
Emily's power didn't kill him; he killed himself on his own will, ,making it look like it was because
of Emily. And because of his actions, the world is in shambles; lots of people are dead and a
poor girl is in jail, convinced that she must become a demon and kill innocent people.
Lightkeeper apologizes for his actions, before stating his purpose; A man in a purple suit
(Nothingness) is the real culprit behind the revolution, and has dubious plans for not just US, but
the world. He must be stopped. He warns Timekeeper to keep a close eye on Ned and co,
before walking away.
Timekeeper decides this could be good advice. They set up the recording device, noting
how theyll miss their palace, Timekeeper sits down on their chair, and starts to read their
speech...
Act Two, Scene Seven:
Cassius, Ned, and Omar are all in the hideout. Thats when Heather frantically tells Ned
to come with her; Gordon may not make it after all. They both leave as Cassius and Omar
wonder what to do with the two kids and what theyre gonna do when this is all over. Ned
reenters, running out into the basement. Heather runs after him.
Ned takes out a knife when he hears Heather offstage (symbolizing that, even though
shes in the room with him, to Ned she might as well not be. The stage is completely black, only
a spotlight on Ned). He tells her to stay put, reading her thoughts; everything will be alright,
she thinks. Ned refutes this, believing that his father will die after all because Omar nor Cassius
have proper medical training. Hes all I have left. Ned states. Heather points herself out.
In an attempt to scare her off, Ned brings up many of the horrible things shes done,
most notably trying to hide a body. He also insults her. Heather doesn't budge. He asks if shes
playing some kind of joke, blatantly telling her to go away. She refuses, moving closer to him
(still not on stage). Ned warns her to stay away once more, reading the thoughts of Cassius and
Omar(to reaffirm his belief in them hating him). He states that he can't live with himself, knowing
what hes done.
This distracts him long enough for Heather to suddenly rush onstage and disarm him.
She tells him that he will live on, he has to, and that if Gordon dies, he won't be alone. He has a
friend now, even if he doesn't realize it. He reads her thoughts, and tries to assure himself that
shell betray him, like everyone else. Unable to assure himself of this, he starts sobbing.
Heather comforts him as Cassius comes on wondering what all the commotion is about.
(Nothingness comes on, unnoticed, and steals the knife.
Nothingness re-enters as Emily is suffering a crisis in her cell. He assures her that shes
become a monster worse than Abraham or Alex. Speaking of those... hey, guys! Nothingness
shouts to the wings. The ghosts(?) of Bryan, Abraham, Journalist, and Norma enter. They all
berate her and drive her mad. She has a breakdown and asks the audience to stop watching
the play so she can cease to exist. Nothingness disagrees, and hands her the knife. You know
what to do. He says. Emily stabs herself to death, and Nothingness thanks her for doing
so)*Not sure if this scene should be shown or implied.

Nothingness abruptly enters, Omar now in the basement too, letting them know that the
revolution is over; the government was successfully driven out, mainly due to Peacekeeping
intervention, and the people are celebrating. They should go celebrate with him. Ned explains
who Nothingness is, but still the others refuse, as the revolution is still ongoing and the
Peacekeeping Forces have not sided with them.
He assures them that the news is lying, it really is over, and they should really come with
him. They still refuse, now suspicious of him. Ned remembering that he helped Emily blackmail
him, and with that information Omar accuses him of being the accomplice of Emily's murders.
Nothingness admits to helping blackmail Ned, but points out to him that he did save him from
that masked man, and did help him bond with some girls.
Since Emily's untimely demise (she did herself in, I assure you), , he needs new friends,
and asks if theyd like to fill in the void she left. They refuse and restrain him. He changes the
scene; theyre back on the streets, in the middle of a battlefield between Peacekeeping soldiers
and revolutionists. The peacekeepers are retreating. Nothingness breaks free of them and tells
them that those four are thieves trying to hurt him. They should be shot.
They comply, before Timekeeper appears and freezes everyone in place. This will be his
last act of heroism, before he is to retire to the unknown. His power convinces the revolutionists
to run away, and The Peacekeepers, recognizing Cassius and Omar, herd the four away to
safety. Timekeeper and Nothingness have a brief exchange before the latter suddenly attacks
the former. Nothingness is seemingly killed.
Timekeeper lies there, severely wounded, before the ghost(?) of Clara comes onstage. A
spotlight on both of them. She urges them to take her hand, so they can finally be happy with
her and the rest. Timekeeper entertains this thought, but decides that, in order to avoid another
Lightkeeper-esque situation, they must stay alive, and figure out how to move on from whats
happened. Clara sadly leaves, assuring them that they will meet her someday. Timekeeper gets
up, and when the stage is completely lit, Nothingness body is gone.
Timekeeper notices the revolutionists and Peacekeepers watching (from offstage). They
bid them goodbye, telling them that they will have to go somewhere, will no one will bother
them. And with that, Timekeeper exists, hopeful that everything will turn out ok after all.
Epilogue:
Its several months later, and Timekeeper is remembered somewhat fondly for saving a
group of people(now somewhat famous), and fighting this teleporting crazy guy. The revolution
did not succeed, and many of its leaders (including Rick) are rotting in prison. However, the
government is taking steps to ensure the country is improved. The new Prime Minister is Omar,
whos doing an ok job running things.
Cassius swears to himself that he will find Jack (still labeled as MIA). When he does, he
will apologize for his actions and try his hardest to perhaps make up with him. Ned and Heather,
meanwhile, are now close friends. Ned appears to be in brighter spirits then last seen, and
Heather is dating. All four will forever be haunted by everything that happened to them in the
story.
While visiting Bryan and Clara's graves, the ghosts of Bryan, Emily, and Clara's ghost
appear at the edge of the right wing, and immediately exit. The two notice, and Heather decides
not to follow them. Ned is more hesitant, but ends up leaving with her.
